About The Bird's Nest

The Bird's Nest is located in the heart of South East London's historical maritime community of Deptford, wedged between the scenic Greenwich on the River Thames, and the bustling contemporary cultural centre of New Cross.

With transit links to nearby central London, including an overland train depot one stop east of London Bridge, continuing on to the Kent countryside, Docklands Light Railway into the heart of East London's old dockyards (now Canary Wharf), and a 24 hour bus service, stopping just outside the hostel doors, the Bird's Nest is the perfect location for exploring London and beyond.

Check in times are from 3pm until 11pm. There is a baggage store available for early arrivals who can then adventure out into the city returning to check in at their leisure. Late arrivals should contact the Bird's Nest team 24hours prior to arrival to arrange for an out of hours check in.

The hostel provides free wifi and two house computers with internet to keep in touch with those back at home.

After a long day, you can kick back and relax in our pub, which offers live music on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday evenings, a pool table, and a selection of fine beverages, perfect for tourists on a budget.

3. Get off at Deptford Station and turn right. Walk down Deptford High street towards Deptford Broadway. Take the third left onto Reginald Rd where there is a round-about at the bottom. The Birds Nest is on the opposite side (4mins walk).

From Stansted Airport
1.Catch the one train traveling to Liverpool Street Station
2.Transfer to the London Underground Central Line
3.Traveling Westbound on the Central Line towards Ealing Broadway or West Ruislip to Bank Station
4.At Bank take the Docklands Light Railway(DLR) towards Lewisham
5. Get off at Deptford Bridge, The Birds Nest is located on the northern exit (if u forgot your compass look for lewisham college) turn right on to Deptford Church Street. You will find us at the round about (2min walk).
OR
From Liverpool Street Station get on board a #47 bus to Deptford. Let the driver know that you will be getting off at Lewisham college on Deptford High Street. We are next door
by the round about.

From Victoria Coach Station
1.Walk to Victoria Tube Station and get on the London Underground
2.Take the Circle Line towards Embankment
3.At Cannon Street switch to the Southeastern Rail Service towards Slade Green
4 Get off at Deptford Station and turn right. Walk down Deptford High street towards Deptford Broadway. Take the third left onto Reginald Rd where there is a round-about at the bottom. The Birds Nest is on the opposite side (4mins walk).

From Waterloo Station
1.From Waterloo Station follow the signs to Waterloo East
2.Take the Southeastern Rail Service towards Slade Green
3. Get off at Deptford Station and turn right. Walk down Deptford High street towards Deptford Broadway. Take the third left onto Reginald Rd where there is a round-about at the bottom. The Birds Nest is on the opposite side (4mins walk).
