This is a Trusted Review. Why?
Perfect location and a very basic hotel. No aditional services, rooms very small, not in the best shape, however, due to the central location of the hotel, probably the best value for the money. I would recommend this hotel to everyone who's looking for a basic hotel, as it is central located, close to most of the attractions in central London, it is clean enough, the towells were changed everyday, there is also a TV in the room.

SOME HISTORY:
The land where our hotel stands was sold in 1623 by King James 1st (1566-1625) to some wealthy families and kept on being sold over the years until it came in the hands of heiress Mary Davies who married in 1677 Sir Thomas Grosvenor... In 1825 the famous architect Thomas Cubitt was contracted by Lord Grosvenor to develop the whole area and sell it as residential properties... In 1947 our address was converted from a residential property into a hotel.
We, the current owners, British family of French and Italian origins have had this hotel since 1997 and tried over the years, like the previous owners, not to modernize it but to keep it look traditional and old- fashion, that is why it is appreciated by most guests.
HOTEL DESCRIPTION:
Whilst this is not a luxury hotel, every effort is made to keep the rooms serviced daily, so they are clean and comfortable. Therefore, we think they are offered at reasonable prices in this very expensive area.
Friendliness, help, assistance and hospitality are our principles in the way we deal with our guests because we feel some kind of personal approach towards them which goes beyond traditional business boundaries. For this reason most of our new guests leave our hotel with an excellent impression about us and about London.
There is a choice of rooms with private bathroom and some budget rooms with shared bathroom, requested mostly by students.

GUESTS COMMENTS:
All comments written by guests who stayed with us are true, including the harsh ones. We thank them for helping us change or improve things, our guests are our most important critics. But sometimes we get guests who pay for the price of a small basic hotel but they expect the services of a 5 star hotel.
London is not only expensive but a city where it is really hard to find harmony between price, location, safety, hospitality and comfort. We think we provide that to our guests. To be sure of that, please read all the comments.
Finally, read what Napoleaon Bonaparte had said about London '...If only one state existed on earth, London should be its capital'.
Wishing all of you a pleasant stay in this exciting city.

For american or europen tourists...the rooms are much smaller in the UK than in other countries, the hotel is old fashion and more like a hostel, suitable to backpackers, students, young travellers. If you're in London for a short break and you're looking only for something basic, this hotel has an excellent value for the price you'll pay (if compared with the average price of a room in London).
I've enjoyed my stay and I will probably return.
