Tampumayu, in Quechua “the lodge of the river”, is located in a strategic place, exactly halfway between the tourist cities of Nasca and Cusco. Tampumayu has been built in the style of a typical Andean village, in a quiet and calm place on the shores of the Pachachaca River. It is the ideal place for those who wish to visit Cusco by land and really get to know Peru.
The Spanish Quechua word that means 'Posada del Rio' is exactly halfway between the resorts of Nasca and Cusco. Here you will find a haven of peace and tranquility, experience a pleasant climate, where you will spend the night peacefully and enjoy a restful sleep.
Tampumayu was built using native materials from the region; supplied and prepared by
the locals: adobes burned by the sun, roofs made out of eucalyptus logs, reed canes
and tiles, floors made out of eucalyptus boards and furniture made of Andean pine.
The hotel is located in the district of Chalhuanca, on Km. 361 of the Nasca to Cusco highway, in the area of Apurimac.
From Nasca, after 2 hours, visitors will arrive to Pampa Galeras National Reserve, dedicated to the preservation and protection of the famous “Vicuñas”.
On the route landscapes of singular attraction can be seen, such as plateaus inhabited by thousands of alpacas, andean lagoons, and colourful inter-Andean valleys.
In one of these valleys, the Tampumayu Hotel and Restaurant is located.
