Sunbird Backpackers is a small establishment that can sleep 24 people and is ideally situated for backpackers and travelers visiting Oudtshoorn and exploring the area.The house has lofty ceilings, wooden floors and French doors opening onto wide stoeps. The décor is simple and elegant, a blend of period furniture and clean lines, echoing the refreshing purity of the Karoo landscape.

Facilities include a communal lounge & kitchen, Internet access, tea and coffee making facilities and breakfast on request. We can also bring takeaways to your room.

Sunbird has 2 Dormitory rooms with 4 bunk beds in each that can sleep up to 8 with a shared bathroom.

Sunbird also has 2 family rooms- 1 with double bed and 1 bunk bed that can sleep up to 4 people and has a shared bathroom, and 1 with a queen size bed and 1 bunk bed which also sleeps 4 people and has a shared bathroom. Both have space for a cot, if needed.

There is also a fully equipped kitchen for self catering.

From George follow the N12 in a northern direction to Oudtshoorn. As you enter the town, Sunbird Accommodation will be on your right hand side. Entering from the Northern side, turn left at the 3 traffic light, down the road for 1.5 kilometres and Sunbird Accommodation will be on your left hand side.
