This is a Trusted Review. Why?

Glad to stay in this place. Though in the beginning we need almost 1 hour to find this place but overall we satisfied with it. And the staff there is very helpful to suggest sightseeing location, give us bus map and help us to see the map how to get there, etc.

Great location and friendly staff. We had a Japanese style room which was nice with a really good heater (we visisted in winter.... definately needed a heater!) The showers were a bit crap but otherwise awesome place to stay :)

Nice place to stay, a little awkward to find but once your there its easy to see...
basic rooms and facilities but nice people in and around the place! we only stayed one night but the staff were very helpful, we didnt catch the bus out of kyoto until 22:30 but they were quite happy for us to relax there and use the facilities until we left, so big thanks! :)

The pictures on the internet make it seem like it is bigger than it really is. The dining area and kitchen are actually very small and filled with stuff so you really can't eat there.
The futons were clean but very worn and thin, the floor gets mighty hard by morning! We were disappointed. Our daughter said a youth hostel would have been better. The best thing was the air-conditioned sleeping room because we were there in August. We won't be staying there again when we revisit Japan.

This is a Trusted Review. Why?

If you can, better stay somewhere else. This place is a dump!

I have stayed 2 nights in the mixed dorm (basement). They showed us a closet (no joke) with 2 futtons in it. These where our beds.

we managed to get another bed but still you don't want to stay here..

The room smells, the futtons are dirty and there are no lockers to leave your valuables.

We really enjoyed our stay at Sakura House. Staff were really great- Yui was so helpful and lovely!! Perfect host. Beds really comfy and rooms totally spacious enough.
I remember the directions were little difficult to follow though.
We loved Kyoto!
