Riad Sheherazade is a lovely place with beautifully decorated, air-conditioned rooms, and a pretty terrace on top. The couple who run it are very hospitable and friendly, and they prepared for us the most delicious pancake breakfast every morning. The terrace was fantastic for relaxing in the evening, when it was cooler outside. The riad is 10 minutes walk to the main square, and just across the street from the tombs. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who would like to experience the real Marrakech.

My husband and I have just returned from a great 4 night break in Marrakech.
The Riad owners were very nice and couldn't do enough to help out.
They arranged the taxi to and from the airport for us. (it cost about 15 euro, about 150 Dirams)
The Riad is about a 10 minute walk from the center so is a bit quieter than staying right in the center, (cause the center is very noisy, mopeds everywhere!)
I was a bit nervous about breakfast, but it was delicious! Fresh made pancakes, 3 types, not sure what they were all called, with jam, marmelade and fresh coffee, and orange juice.
When you arrive the maze of streets where the Riad is located seem a bit scary, but it couldn't be further from the truth, the locals are great and always say hello and point you in the right direction if you get lost. The local children are adorable and are playing in the side streets of the riad till late into the night.
Bathrooms in the Riad are clean and traditional, (beautiful copper sink, taps etc) but don't expect a pressure shower or hairdryer.
No TV or radio in the rooms, so I would take a portable radio if I go again.
The pools at the Riad are not always filled, but if you ask the owners they will fill them for you....they take a few hours to fill so I would ask in the morning.
As I said the owners are wonderful and we had a great time, send us our best if you go. Regards Rob & Kerrie
