Situated in an ancient 'Maison Vigneron', this stylish and tranquil Chambre d'hôtes de Charme is located on the edge of a ramparted village.
With stunning views over the vines and the garrigue, it is the ideal spot to escape and recharge your batteries or, should the urge take you, to use as a base for discovering the hidden charms of this beautiful region of France.
Comfortable and relaxed, the bedrooms all contribute to the restful qualities of this perfect home from home. With a spacious en suite bathroom and individually controlled air conditioning, guests have been known to sleep until midday and beyond!
You are invited to make full use of the large landscaped garden with its covered terrace and private swimming pool. Your hosts will welcome you whole heartedly and help you to explore in a manner that best suits you.
An ideal base for those exploring the area by car, on bicycles (which are available from the owner) - or even on foot. The World Heritage site of the Canal du Midi is five minutes away, thus allowing you to combine a stay here with a trip on the canal, or the glorious Mediterranean with its fantastic beaches are only 30 minutes away.

Ian and Tricia are very pleasant couple who are also very helpful in arranging things to do and restaurants etc.
The accommodation is modern and very clean and there is a heated pool and a terrace which is was good.
Mailhac is very quiet so you need a car. At the time of year we went, everything in the village was shut after about 8pm.
A place to unwind and get away from the annoyances of modern life.
Would definitely stay there again.

Le coq du nord is situated half way between Carcassonne and Bezier which means that a car is the best means of transport to get around in this area.
Access is simple from the motorways and airports of Carcassonne (30 mins), Bezier (30 mins), Perpignan (45 mins), Montpellier (60 mins), Girona (75 mins), or Toulouse (75 mins). From the A9 take either junction 36 or 38 and take the road towrds Carcassone, from the A61 take junction 25 and head towards Olonzac.
