Despite receiving a confirmed booking and having paid a 10% deposit, upon arrival, I was informed that Ramiro was out, his son contacted him on the phone, and Ramiro then informed me that the place was booked - as his son had arrived and needed the single room.

Ramiro then asked his son to take me to a friend's place a block away, and they put me up. I had no choice as I was stranded, but fortunately the people were accommodating and helpful, and took good care of me whilst I was there.

I really cannot say enough about Ramiro's casa in Havana. I was recommended him through another traveler and I am so glad. Ramiro and his wife are the definition of hospitality, from the breakfasts, which are the best breakfasts ever to recommendations on what to see and where to eat. The place is only three blocks from the baseball stadium, so if you are a ball fan this is perfect. The cost is minimal, if that's important. Again to Ramiro and his family a thousand times thank you for everything.

Havana and the whole Cuban adventure has been a blast thanks to the help of Ramiro. He's got links in pretty much every city in the country and can get you good deals.
Especially if your Spanish isn't great he would be the best choice as he's an English professor and therefore talks fluently, the rooms are clean and rates are reasonable, and the free breakfast with his special smoothies the best we could find in the country.

Gracias por todo Ramiro, all the best...

Ramiro´s House is really a great start when arriving in Cuba. Especially when you have a lack in spanish. It was great to check with Ramiro as he is an english professor that can give you valuable tipps for your cuba trip.

He never requested anything. He showed us around the first day and also explains the way of cuba and why it is like it is. The room rate is definately reasonable and Ramiro makes the best smoothies in Cuba ;-)

Ramorio is very friendly and helpfull! His English is excellent so it's easy to communicate with him. Ramiro's house is just ouside the city centre. It's very clean and has an nice balcony to enjoy the Cuban streetlife. Ramiro has a lot of good tips for sightseeing and is more than willing to answer all your questions. Breakfast and dinner are very good as well.

We had a very pleasent stay at his place and thanks to his connection we stayed with a lot of friendly people during our Trip to Cuba.

We had a lovlely weeks stay with Ramiro. Super friendly informative guy who was always helpfull with our many queries. Room was clean and quiet - I slept better here than anywhere else in Cuba.

If you stay with Ramiro, eat at the Casa, breakfast always involved a delicious smoothy (he did a different one each day so we could experience the different Cuban fruit) and his omlette´s were delicious and filling enough to enable us not to have to hunt out for lunch. Dinner too was yummy.

Basically a great affordable place to stay with an interesting host who is always more than happy to help.
