Welcome to the Royal Highland Hotel, one of the most famous and best loved hotels in Scotland.

One minute from a lighting the train, 15 minutes from Inverness airport, and nestling in the vibrant and modern Highland capital of Scotland, is a true delight, a friendly, welcoming, real Scottish hotel of magnetic character and charm. And Inverness hotels just don’t come more central than this.

Guests savor two feasts here: the unmistakable hospitality and classical culinary experience of this grand hotel - and the freedom of one of the least crowded parts of Western Europe coupled with the enormous appeal of vibrant Inverness, leisure and business capital of the Highlands of Scotland as an outstanding destination base from which to enjoy and savor a veritable kaleidoscope of activities, great shopping, touring and sightseeing opportunities which surround and abound.

This hotel makes it perfect for short breaks and weekend breaks in Inverness (including these ‘inevitable’ highland shopping breaks), business travel to Inverness, touring Loch Ness, visiting the Grampians and their great castle and whisky trails, and Cairngorms National Park. The wonders of Skye and Lochalsh beckon, as well as the delights of Caithness and Sutherland, with world class golf at Royal Dornoch and Brora (and east of the city at Nairn too), and that special lure which enticed Madonna to have her wedding here in Scotland.

Rest assured that you'll receive a warm welcome. Come and stay with us and appreciate why the hotel is earning such a good reputation. You'll soon wonder why you've never stayed before.

Location Information

By road

From Glasgow there is a choice of routes. The most direct is A/M80 via Stirling, then M9 to Perth, and A9 to Inverness. Or you can indulge in the scenic delights of the A 82 via Loch Lomond, Rannoch Moor, Glencoe and past Fort William and Ben Nevis, then skirting the western side of Loch Ness virtually all the way.

From Edinburgh and Edinburgh Airport – M90 to outskirts of Perth then join the A9 all the way to Inverness

From Aberdeen - A96 all the way to Inverness

From the south - M1/A1 to Edinburgh then as above, or M6/M74/M73 then A/M80 and onward as above.

All of these above routes converge at a large roundabout just on the south west side of the city – from there follow the signs to Inverness town/city centre, looking for the railway station, and the hotel is in Station Square adjacent to the station
