Was not expecting much as it was a budget hotel, but it was very run down. The first room we were given stank of stale tobacco, the curtains were filthy and the window opened onto an inner courtyard about 2 metres square with rubbish and cigarette ends strew around.
The next room up one floor still smelled, handle to bathroom door was broken and view from window identical to first room.
The final room was on the 4th floor. It smelled fresh, was clean although the bathroom door did not close as it had been broken open at some time from inside!
We were still facing the inner courtyard, but could see the sky! We decided to give it a try as we were very tired.
We did speak to the owner later who explained that he had only just acquired it and apologised for the state of it, He explained that he was planning to completely renovate it but only having taken over the premises a week ago, with bookings, could do nothing now but apologise.
The staff were very friendly and polite so we decided it would do as we intended to be out every day, all day. - This was just as well as there were 70 steps spiralling up to our room!
However, we would not use it again as getting luggage up and down all those stairs and no lift was a pain.
