The room, shower/toilet area's, and kitchen were all clean. Staff was friendly and helpful. One thing was that my room was next to water pipe, which was very noisy at night.

This is the best hostel I have stayed in since I arrived in Australia. Tracy, Simon & the JJ's Staff all went out of their way to help me. Tracy had detailed knowledge of all tours available and gave independant opinion on them all, the best of which was the "Barefoot Waterfall Day Trip" When I pointed out that there was no transport available from the trains, Tracy immediately arranged to include details on the web site. The pool is especially welcome after a long journey to get to Cairns. For anyone looking to complete a collection of "Bigs", the Big Captain Cook is right outside the hostel. There is a welcome shuttle service to & from the city centre thoughout the day.
