Stay with us at the funky and friendly Le Monclair and you will be in the midst of Paris\'s \'must-sees\' and \'must-dos\'.

We\'re located in Montmartre, only minutes from Sacre Coeur, one of the most popular meeting spots in Paris. Just within walking distance from our hostel you have your choice of museums, the famous weekend flea market at Clignancourt flea market, Sacre Coeur and the artistic district of la Butte Montmartre - and then when you are done exploring you can feel good about chilling out in a café to watch the world go by, just like the Parisians.

We have free luggage storage for those arriving and departing, as well as free breakfast, free maps, free linen and blankets and no curfew! The rooms are cleaned daily and our kitchen has been recently refurbished to provide everything you need to prepare your meals with friends.

Our friendly staff will be happy to give you tips and ideas for inexpensive and fun activities or to reserve major attractions the likes of Disney, Moulin Rouge and more. We strive to make our common room fun and comfortable and the perfect place to meet our other guests. We\'re travellers too so we know that many times it is not about where you are as much as who you meet. Our formula is tough to beat because we have the beautiful, fantastic and magical Paris and a super friendly atmosphere.

We\'re close to the post office, Metro, supermarkets, world-famous Paris bakeries, Laundromats, restaurants and clubs. There\'s private bicycle parking available.

In case we\'re full, we suggest that you try the other HIPHOPHOSTELS located nearby. These include Regent Hostel, Square Caulaincourt, Le Village, Vintage Hostel, Woodstock Hostel, and Plug-Inn Hostel. Other hostels and budget hotels include Oops! and Young & Happy Hostel in the Latin Quarter; The 3 Ducks and Aloha Hostel over near the Eiffel Tower and Absolute Paris which is located on Canal St. Martin. Each of us in the HIPHOPHOSTELS family (code for we all have the same owners). All HIPHOPHOSTELS are consistent, in that we have friendly and knowledgeable staff, we are all located in convenient and authentic areas of Paris and we all offer great value for the money. We\'re not cookie-cutter in that we are all the same. Like any family we all have our own personalities but we are sure a HIPHOPHOSTEL has something for every type of budget traveller.

Great hostel! So nice located right behind sacre coeur in beautiful montmatre. The hostel has the charm of typical older parisian house and is lovely renovated. I could see the sacre coeur from my little sweet balcony. Kitchen is cool and a great place to meet the others. Wifi for free, great croissants :). Close to metro. I would stay there again!

The hostel is very shabby and run down, but has a good atmosphere and was comfortable enough. Breakfast was also OK.

There were really nice people working there, they had a good place downstairs where you could just hang out at night. Breakfast was really good and there was everything you needed.
At night it was really noisy though, you could hear everything they said downstairs which was kind of annoying when wanting to sleep. But apart from that, it was pretty good. I would definitely go there again.

  • *( OUR ) WORST HOSTEL IN EUROPE FOR 2010**

Stay here for the following attractions :

1. True 1870 Parisian squalor, with filthy floors, walls and toilets available in your room ( aka small cell ).
2. The worlds most pathetic breakfast with strictly one roll, one croissant and a thimbleful of cornflakes ( yes, I know what you're thinking - cornflakes are the least nutritious of all the cereals ).
3. Enforcement of the super regulated breakfast restrictions by a four foot, miserable, Adolf-like, aesthetically displeasing old woman who physically accosts you if you so much as eye an extra piece of sustenance.
4. An added bonus that they don't tell you about - massive scaffolding and cloth across the entire front of the building due to alleged renovations that super heats your room, completely blocks views and deprives you of somewhat desirable oxygen. But wait .. theres more! It also results in workers literally hammering through your wall at 8am every morning with clouds of dust going through your possessions / belongings / bedding, not to mention the odd worker eyeing up female guests as they sleep or shower.

Fairly warned be thee.

the location is great- close to the metro station and to the sacret heart basilic.Montmartre is beautifull, with nice people and great restaurants. The hostel staff is very nice and very helpfull. however, the bedrooms (i stayed in a twin bed ensuite) are old, not very clean and the bathroom was terrible- almost no hot water in the shower and only one person at the time in the bathroom! breakfast very poor- only 1croissant,1bread...and noise until 4a.m.!! overall-great location, great staff but, please, improve the facilities!!!
