As you are centrally located we were expecting more of a European standard of service which means a non-smoking hotel, bins should be provided in bathrooms. The staircase leading up to the hotel was a horrendous experience every time we were leaving or coming back to the hotel. Each time we had wade through stale cigarette smoke and smokers on the staircase. At one time I went to the reception to enquire about extra pillows which was unsuccessful and on returning to my room, my partner told me how much I smelled of stale cigarette smoke. On their website it says that it is a non-smoking hotel, however the receptionist would leave the entrance door to the hotel open - which was leading to the main staircase of the building where all smokers would congregate. The room where we were staying was badly equipped with power points and only had one bedside lamp. In 30 years in staying in hotels around the world this has to be one of the most unpleasant experiences considering what we expecting from the website. I could go on, but I feel it is pointless... as I don't plan to stay here again or ask for a refund.
