Although the location is good I can't recommend this hostel. The owners are very cheap and "nickel & dime" it every where they can.
only three blocks from the Metro.
Their hours are 10-10 but there often isn't anybody there. Their policies are poorly written and posted. One worker told me .25 per sheet to print black and white and .50 for color and another worker said .50 for black and white and .75 for color. They have extra charges for a multitude of "offenses". They have several security cameras throughout the hostel but few outside. They're more concerned with protecting their hostel than their visitors.
There are no trash cans in the rooms. No dressers or shelves to put your belongings. They provide you a towel but no hook to allow it to dry. The mattresses are cheap and not very comfortable.
Shoes are not allowed and they admonish you for wearing them in the main room even though you are by the front door where people come in and it's the only place you can sit down to take your shoes off.
The shower stall floors are missing tiles and the water doesn't work right. It can take several minutes for the hot water to work.
You can go out on the roof but the wood hasn't been treated in years; make sure you wear your socks. The tables and chairs are old and beat up and there's no shade or cover if it rains.
There is nothing "luxurious" about this place. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.
Nice hostel with a cosy family like atmosphere. Not the party type place. The guys working there were unusually friendly and helpful.
I would go there again if I come back to DC.
