About Milagros Diez
If you are looking for a legal and very safe place to stay in downtown Havana, and go by walking to the most interesting places in the City of Havana, then welcome to our house. The large property - around 200 sq m - is situated on the ground floor of a 1920's building, with it’s original structure, tile floors, sculpted ceilings -5 m height- and an inner courtyard.
We offer you two comfortable rooms - double en-suites. We’re equipped with modern amenities such as a shower and bathroom with hot and cold water the whole day. The rooms are acclimatized with air conditioner and ceiling fan, with 110V/200V air conditioning power supply sockets.
In one of these rooms for an extra 10.00 CUC a personal bed can be added in the case of three persons staying.
If as on an exceptional situation we can’t receive you at home we are responsible to reallocate you in a place as closer to us as possible with similar or better conditions but the same price agreed.
The average price of the room is 25.00 CUC per night, though this may vary according the tourist season, the same for one or two people. The price is negotiable for staying more than two weeks. Taxes are included in the price.
Location Information
Our address is : Calle Manrique No. 208 (bajos) entre Concordia y Virtudes. Centro Habana. The number 208 is in a column that divide the two equal entrances of the building front of the hotel, our entrance is on the left side. Remember at the ground floor. Here you needn't go upstairs.
By Bus:
By bus, taking buses P12 or P16 up to last stop and then walking up to the house.
By Car:
By car, when you left the Airport, drive in direction to the historic centre of the city, following the traffic signals through Ave. Boyeros to Ave. Carlos III, after pass two avenues: Ave. Infanta and Ave. Belascoain and pass a big church to the right side of the way, then you'll see a semaphore - Campanario and Ave. Reina's semaphore-. A block after, that street is Manrique, then turn to the left and straight ahead until you see a big banner "Hotel Girasol". , our building -number 208- is in front of the hotel, it has two doors separated by a column. Our entrance is on the left side -ground floor-.
By Taxi - Please include Taxi fare
From the International Airport 30 min by taxi -normally it costs is between 20-25 CUC
From Viazul Bus Station by bus, taking bus 27 up to stopped of Zanja and Galiano -Chinatown- in Centro Habana and then walking up to the house. By taxi less than 15 min -normally it costs is around 6 CUC.
From the Train Station by taxi it cost is around 3 CUC.
From eastern beaches 20 min by taxi it costs is between 15-20 CUC.

We stayed as a party of 4 adults with a 20month old baby for 3 nights. Javier and Milagro were very hospitable, welcomed us into their family and gave us excellent advice on other places to stay during our 2 week visit to Cuba. The house is located within a 10 minute walk of the old town and we felt quite safe going everywhere on foot from the house. We started each day with a good breakfast of fruit ,rolls and eggs. We ate out in the evenings either in the old town or in China town which is only a few blocks from the casa.
One slight downside was the low water pressure in the bathrooms but Javier is currently engaged on improvement works and hopes to improve this and have new furniture shortly.Milagro Diez proved an excellent starting point for what was a very memorable holiday thanks to the contacts given to us by Javier.

This was the most wheelchair accessible accommodation we stayed at in Cuba. There is a 6" step up from the pavement which is easy enough with a little help and is certainly no harder to tackle than most of Havana's kerbs. Everything else is level and spacious, and the room had a level access shower and air-con.
The best feature was definitely Javier and his family. They were very,very welcoming and enormously helpful. They gave us lots of tips for travelling around both Havana and Cuba in general and this made huge difference to our trip. I would not have managed to get the paintings we bought through customs without Javier's advice...thankyou!
Milagros Diez is ideally located for exploring the most interesting parts of Havana and the Malacon is only a few streets away for really nice evening strolls. There's a really handy little shop at the top of the street and Javier can point you in the direction of anything you need.
If we visit Cuba again we will definitely stay again at Milagros Diez. After a hot day's sight-seeing there is nothing nicer than a welcome from Javier's Aunt (and her Guava juice is delicious!).
