Pros: Comfy beds, very clean, quiet location in a courtyard, close to S-Bahn, and good breakfast for 5 euros. Cons: So-so reception staff (polite but seemed confused by our questions about bar/restaurant recommendations), not good for meeting other travelers despite massive common room. Overall, a good place to rest but without much character.

This is a Trusted Review. Why?

Three Little Pigs was a nice clean Hostel. The "All you can eat breakfast" was EXCELLENT value, very tasty. The hallways were a bit barren and lifeless, as were the rooms. But for nice cheap accommodation you can't complain. The sheets and beds were clean, as were the toilets (even stocked with paper). The heating was also excellent (very important when it's -12 degrees C outside). We were there in winter so it might be more lively in summer. While it wasn't directly in a part of town that was central it was right next to a station and only one stop from some more bars and clubs. Also the directions from the airport were SPOT on which was also very helpful.

This is a Trusted Review. Why?

The always-empty echoing hallways in this big building lack any kind of atmosphere. No friendly lounge exists to sit back at and meet fellow travellers, and although there's actual kitchens, their quality is decidedly subpar. All of that stands in stark contrast to the clean and absolutely lovely rooms. Staff is friendly, there's free parking, and the location, right near Potsdamer Platz, is downright excellent.
All in all, this place is a rather mixed bag. Next time I go to Berlin, I'll look for somewhere else to stay - but I can also easily see this place being perfect for others.
