About Hostal Abril
Our hostel is located in the Madrid downtown, Where the greater range of leisure and culture of the city. Just ten minutes of "Km 0" in the "Puerta del Sol" and five of the Telefónica building, number one on our street and corner of it with the street "Gran Via.
Totally rebuilt and redecorated in March, 2010. The Hostal Abril is located in the increasingly famous Fuencarral, known for its constant opening of exclusive stores. In the heart of Madrid, close to metro stations Tribunal and Gran Via, 10 minutes from the Puerta del Sol and close to major tourist places of interest.

BUSES
Numbers 1, 2, 3, 40, 46, 146, 147 y 202. The travel price is 1 euro.
METRO
There is in Madrid an area which is called "Fuencarral" with a Metro Station with the same name, Hostal Abril is not there, we are in "Fuencarral" street in the downtown Madrid. The Metro Stations are Tribunal y Gran Vía (lines 1, 5 y 10).
The travel price is 1 euro. You can buy a "Metrobús" with ten travels, the cost is 7,4 euros and can be used in Metro and buses. There is a supplement of 1 euro using the station of Aeropuerto T4.

The Metro is open from 6:00 a.m. - 1:30 a.m.
ARRIVAL BY PLANE
Taxis: Meters inside the taxis display the fare, which any authorized extra service charges must be added to. These are displayed for the public on the back right-hand window of the taxi. The fare from downtown Madrid to the airport or from the airport to downtown Madrid is about 30 to 35 euros when traffic is normal.
Metro: Take the line number 8 to "Nuevos Ministerios". There, change to line number 10 to "Tribunal". Follow the exit to Fuencarral Street and go to the number 39 where the hostel is.
BY CAR
If you are coming by car, you will find very difficult to park in the street. There is a system called ORA (Rational Parking Organisation), which stipulates that every car parked in marked zones must have a ticket which you can buy at the parking-meters for 2 hours. However there are some underground municipal parking lots near the hostel:

Staff are very helpful and obliging and the hostel is very modern ,fresh and spotlessly clean.The location is very also good being a stones throw from either Gran Via or Tribunal.What lets it down however are the rooms which are small ,stuffy,windowless and very noisy. You can hear everything! So it may be cheap but if you want a decent nights sleep then rethink.
