Hotel Pankow is an excellent place to stay. Quite inexpensive and very close to public transportation. The rooms were cleaned daily and were nice and bright. Excellent service. Only bad thing for me was no access to internet but you can bring your own laptop and use their wireless.

About Hotel Pankow
The Hotel Pankow is located in the part of Berlin, where the East German leaders lived. The nearby castle 'Niederschönhausen' (10 walking minutes from the hotel) was their guest-house. Krustschov, Breshnev, Fidel Castro, Nasser and Arafat all stayed there.The hotel is a light and airy house, with all the amenities necessary for a nice relaxing stay. The furniture in our rooms is modern and of a Scandinavian style. Every room has a cable-TV, a phone a writing desk and in most of the rooms there is a comfortable armchair.Behind the hotel there is a hotel-owned parking lot, where parking is € 5/day. In the garage parking is € 7/day.Near the reception there is a computer for the guests, where you can read and write your e-mails or just surf the internet. The first 20 minutes are free. And after breakfast our breakfast room converts to a little Bistro, where we serve snacks and drinks.

The hotel is in the northern part of Berlin. Within the city, for sure, about 20-30min by S-bahn from Friedrichshafen or Hauptbahnhof. Then additional 2 stops by the local tram, or 10 min walking.
The room was very basically equipped, most stuff seemed to be from IKEA. Excellent W-LAN, though, for free. Breakfast was not included, costed 7 € and was also very basic. Bathroom clean, but small, stupidly made shower, no drain on the floor, so the water ran from the floor and into the room. Thumbs down.
I rentet a room for one night only, because all hotels and hostels in city centre were occupied. Works as an emergency solution, but would generally not recommend this hotel. There are plenty of hotels in Berlin with better cost/value, service, location.

It was a bad arrival, because Travellerspoint didn't book our hotel. Until now it is unclear why it happens. The manager in Hotel Pankow says, there is no contract between Hotel and Travellerspoint.
The Hotel is in good condition. Unfortunately, there is a long road way to the hotel (>20min).
