B&B Hacienda El Sol, Playa del Carmen, Mexico

This Hacienda style house was built in 2000 and in 2009 renovated for the use of a guesthouse: a private palapa penthouse on top of the property itself. The courtyard has large trees and ample shade to enjoy a hammock, an Argentinean style barbeque or the refreshing pool. The innkeepers provide a free breakfast and lunch or dinner can be served upon request.

This incredibly spacious palapa covers more than a 100 m2, including a sunny terrace with a table, umbrella and chairs, a fully equipped kitchen and a large bathroom. The penthouse features a King size bed with a romantic baldachin and a Mexican seat of tropical hardwood.

There is a WiFi connection for your laptop and a possibility to rent a bike that takes you to the beach in approximately 10 minutes, although a taxi will only cost you $1,50 US
