Itowe is in great location for those visiting East Berlin, friedrischain bars are 5 min walking, and 10 to the river.
Greg, the owner, is such a friendly guy who will help you plan your day, inform of any events going around in the area, and provide nice breakfast any time you want!! He can also get you biciclyes from next door at a fantastic price.

Double Room Shared Bath- Located in Friedrichshain this our most popular, luxurious room, has been described as guests as 'Shangri-La of the ghetto', in what was once a squat house, the atmosphere remains outside. Once inside our doors you will find a professionally decorated secure room with original art, the double bed, made up with high count cotton sheets, and quilts Breakfast is served in the cafe ITOWE directly below your room,an in spot for the locals we have a fascinating view of the street. The bathroom is fully renovated with bath tub. Shared only with your host Greg,which is used mostly for laundry, you will be a guest in his home, tho you may never see him although he is only a door knock away, an American southerner who has been living in Berlin over 15 years, is readily available to answer questions and offer you his southern hospitality This room is in the EAST PART OF BERLIN features a television, with DVD, wireless Internet for your laptop, washer & dryer services available for a small fee. and is one block away from the train that circles Berlin or the subway. The neighborhood is the most colorful in all of Berlin, the last of example of the rawness that was once Berlin this room is great for fun seekers or scene people. BESIDES ALL THAT we want you to feel as if you are a guest at the house of a old friend.
WE'RE SORRY WE DO NOT ACCEPT CREDIT CARDS; CASH ON ARRIVAL You may also need to know that Berlin is not a credit card or travelers check friendly town. Not even American Express is dependable, this has been a problem for other guests, and we felt that this should be noted.

Highly recommended location and host. Very knowledgeable about the city, sightseeing, and being to accommodate whatever we needed.
Would definitely stay here again and loved visiting with the host; the southern charm certainly was appealing.
Clean room and a huge bathub if you feel the need to soak. And the room is VERY private.
Give it a try. You won't be disappointed.
