ITOWE CAFE GALLERY -- GUEST HOUSE --- Double Room Shared Bath- Located in Friedrichshain on Samariter Str.-- popular for couples who want to escape. This luxurious room, has been described by guests, as 'Shangri-La of the ghetto', in what was once a squat house, the raw alternative atmosphere that is East Berlin, remains outside. Once behind our doors you will find a quiet, peaceful, professionally decorated secure room with original art, the double bed, made up with high count cotton sheets, feather pillows and quilts. A large breakfast tray is outside your door to be enjoyed in your room. with DVD library, WIFI. washer & dryer services for a small fee.
The fully modern bathroom has large tub and endless high pressure hot water. Shared only with your host.One block away from transit.
Greg Peercy, you will be a guest in his home, tho you may never see him, he is only a door knock away. An American southerner who has been living in Berlin over 15 years, is readily available to answer questions and offer you his own brand of hospitality. ASK HIM HE KNOWS. We want you to feel as if you are a guest at the house of a old friend.
The neighborhood is the most colorful in all of Berlin,, the last of the rawness that was once East Berlin, a short walk to the new scene This room is great for fun seekers.
WE'RE SORRY WE DO NOT ACCEPT CREDIT CARDS; CASH ON ARRIVAL You may also need to know that Berlin is not a credit card or travelers check friendly town. Not even American Express is dependable, this has been a problem for other guests, and we felt that this should be noted.

Friedrichstain must be the BEST bit of Berlin.....fab restaurants and shops and most of all a vibrant yet relaxed atmosphere. Itowe Gallery is all part of this - you won't be disappointed.

Itowe is in great location for those visiting East Berlin, friedrischain bars are 5 min walking, and 10 to the river.
Greg, the owner, is such a friendly guy who will help you plan your day, inform of any events going around in the area, and provide nice breakfast any time you want!! He can also get you biciclyes from next door at a fantastic price.

Highly recommended location and host. Very knowledgeable about the city, sightseeing, and being to accommodate whatever we needed.
Would definitely stay here again and loved visiting with the host; the southern charm certainly was appealing.
Clean room and a huge bathub if you feel the need to soak. And the room is VERY private.
Give it a try. You won't be disappointed.
