About Johns Little Auberge in Old Berlin

Our cozy little private non-smoking art & antique hostel is mainly visited by students and young professionals is perfect for single travellers, who want to meet other people, as well as for young couples, who like the privacy of a romantic double-room.

Cozy Twin-rooms or triples are available for friends. Our 2 Dorms with 4 and 8 beds have individual beds, but no bunks. We have a common room for tea&coffee&breakfast with a table and 8 chairs and a common living room with cozy sofas, Wi-Fi & a Berlin library.

Groups or school-classes are not accepted.

We have no curfew, everyone gets own keys.

Laundry service available. 6kg for 6

Our building from 1897 still bears the marks of WWII, with bullet holes in the walls dating back to 1945.

We aim to provide a comfortable, romantic atmosphere for those who don't mind simplicity. Our plants and paintings give this place an atmosphere of an artist's home, ideal for gentle backpackers, brilliant students, world travellers, artists and explorers of culture, history and night-life.

We are LGBT-friendly! Musical instruments are welcome.

Magicians, belly dancers, musicians and singers get the seventh night for free, if performing for our guests.

This could be your sweet little home away from home.

Important Information

Conditions

Check in time is from 9am to midnight only.
The Reception is open from 9-12 am/in the morning and from 9pm until midnight.

We kept your bed reserved at least until 2 hours after your expected arrival, after this we might cancel it. Except you call us or send us a mail to annonce delay.

There is no lock-out or curfew, at the check-in your will get your own key.

We accept Cash only.. Credit cards are not accepted.
Your complete booking has to be paid on arrival.

Bed Linen are not included in the price and is mandatory.
For hygenic reasons we are not allowed to permit Guests own Sleeping Bags

The Bedlinen with pillows and blankets are 3 Euro per person per stay.

CANCELLATION POLICY
Cancellations announced more than 7 days before arrival are free of charge.

Cancellations announced less than 7 days or no shows are charged with the originally booked grand total (100%).
Cancellations have to be announced in written form only (no phone calls!)

In case of cancellations with costs, the according fees will be charged to your credit card.
By confirming your booking you are accepting these special cancellation terms.

Only for the rare case you don't find us at the Reception please call the mobile phone of the manager. The number is written outside at our Door.
In case you dont have a phone, you can call for 50c from the bar or the Internet across the Street.

For lost keys we have to charge 30 Euro.

We only accept groups with a maximum of four people. Bookings of more than this might be cancelled without a refund.

Luggage storage: 2 Euro per person per day. (limited)

Stored luggage we keep not longer than a month, food only for 1 day after your departure. Lost & found articles we keep for a week maximum.
As well we do not guaranty for the content of luggage at all, except for taken cash against receipt.

Laundry service: 7 Euro
( Included Washing Powder , Fabric Softener and Dryer )

We have Security Lockers which can be taken free of charge.
Only for the key we charge a deposit of 30 Euro.

We have a smoke-free hostel. You may smoke in our lovely garden bench outside, across the street.

Alcohol is only permitted in strictly limited quantities.

We do not give refunds for any case..

Johns Hostel's house was built by Davids great-grandfather Count of Bredow in 1885, with loans from the Kaiser.

It was a Herberge=hostel from 1895 to 1933, then a shop for coal until 2004.
Since then a hostel until now.

The Hostels Staff reserve the right of enforcing anybody to Leave the Hostel immediately without prior Warning who is not respecting our Property, our other Guests or or Staff or those violating the law of the Federal Republic of Germany.

This might be
- the Use , Preperation and Posession of any kind of Drugs inside the Hostel.
- Loud Disturbing Noise at Night after 10pm
No Open Fire anywhere, No Incence Sticks, No Smoking
- Theft ( Guest Food, private property , Laundry etc.)
- Destruction of Property

We reserve the right to make changes, amendments, modifications or cancellations, in whole or in part, of this policy without prior notice at any time.
