The hostel and its rooms are equipped with a highly modern keycard system. The entire hostel is equipped with a modern fire alarm system with smoke detectors and fire extinguishers on every floor, as well as a video monitoring system in the entrance area and bar.

The outfit at Tempelhofer Ufer is a bit special: it is part of the Meininger Hostel at Hallesches Ufer across the street. Likewise the reception and the breakfast room and almost all the things that are advertised as facilities are also across the street. This can be a bit inconvenient. It is only a good feature if you want a bit of quiet and want to avoid the rowdy teens on school trips that sometimes flood the hostel at Hallesches Ufer. Or a cheap place to stay, because the beds in the dorm at Tempelhofer Ufer are usually cheaper than the beds in the dorms at Hallesches Ufer - but you can use the same facilities.
Accessibility: The most positive I have to say about this hostel is that the dorm rooms at the lowest level are 100% wheelchair accessible and completely barrier-free. This includes the toilet and the showers, which is not always a given. And to top it off you can stay in this dorm from 8 EUR per night. If you are travelling in a wheelchair and want a cheap place to stay this is the hostel to be at in Berlin.
The location of the hostel is good, easily accessible by public transport and within reasonable distance from most attractions. Unfortunately there is a noisy street right in front of the hostel (both at Tempelhofer Ufer and at the Hallesches Ufer across said noisy street), if you have a room with a window that goes out in the street you need to sleep with the window closed.

BOOKING FPR GROUPS OF 12 OR MORE
1. Bookings for groups of 12 or more: cancellations made by the guest respectively on the part of the intermediary person or organisation are free of charge up to 60 days before expected arrival. For cancellations made within 60 days prior to arrival, the following cancellation fees apply; these fees also apply for bookings made within 60 days of expected arrival:
a) For cancellations made 59 to 30 days before expected arrival, 30 per cent of the agreed-upon total price will be due.
b) For cancellations made 29 to 10 days before expected arrival, 50 per cent of the agreed-upon total price will be due.
c) For cancellations made 9 to 1 day(s) before expected arrival, 90 per cent of the agreed-upon total price will be due.
d) Guests who either cancel on the day of their expected arrival or simply do not show up will be charged the agreed-upon
total price in full.
Above cancellation conditions also apply if the number of persons is reduced at least 10 per cent within this period of time. A
reduction of less than 10 per cent is free of charge until 1 day prior to arrival.
2. Booked meals can be cancelled free of charge until 8 days prior to arrival. Thereafter, a cancellation fee of 100 per cent of the
agreed-upon total price applies.

- Get off at Willy-Brandt-Haus and walk in the same direction as the bus was going.
- Take a right at the next intersection.
- Follow the street for 50m and you will see the entrance.

From Tegel Airport (TXL)
- Take bus X9 or 109 toward Zoologischer Garten and get off at Jakob-Kaiser-Platz.
- Take the U7 toward Rudow and get off at Möckernbrücke. (17 minute journey)
- Leave the U-Bahn station via the Hallesches Ufer/Tempelhofer Ufer exit, turn right and cross the street to Tempelhofer Ufer.
- Follow the street, walking in the same direction as traffic to the next intersection and cross Grossbeerenstrasse.
- After ca. 100m you will see the entrance of our house.
From Schönefeld Airport (SXF)
- Take bus X7 or 171 toward Hermannplatz and get off at Rudow.
- Take the U7 (toward Rathaus Spandau) and get off at Möckernbrücke. (24 minute journey)
- Leave the U-Bahn station via the Hallesches Ufer/Tempelhofer Ufer exit, turn right and cross the street Am Tempelhofer Ufer.
- Follow the street, walking in the same direction as traffic to the next intersection and cross Grossbeerenstrasse.
- After ca. 100m you will see the entrance of our house.
