This is a native house in a country setting (but only a short walk/ride to town of Loboc with banana and mango and papaya and coconut trees all around, and loose chickens! It is one room with one or two beds, bunkbeds (your choice), and nice front porch with a view of the river. Ideal for a romantic retreat...
This house has cooking facilities, fridge, also AC in the house, as well as TV and DVD player (which doubles as CD stereo with video capability.
Right on the Loboc River, with front porch facing the river, there are hammocks for relaxing in the shade of huge banana leaves, and easy to get set up to play badminton.
The bathroom/rest room (Comfort Room) is new and tiled, and I am glad to say we have hot water for showering.
We have good safe drinking water (delivered, in big bottles), and a normal functional flushing toilet like Americans expect, that you can sit on (you can't take these things for granted here), as well as an electric toaster oven, and 110 V transformers for your shaver, re-chargers, etc. if needed, cooking utensils and glasses, plates, silverware, etc.
There is a "SmartBro" wireless card that you can buy in any city which will allow internet access from your laptop, it supposedly is active there in Loboc now though I haven't heard that anyone there has had success with it yet, however if not there are a few internet cafes nearby in downtown Loboc.
This is ONE room, but can have two beds, and with the bunkbeds our family of 6 were OK there (three teenagers each had their own bunk, and MaryJane and I and the baby were on the big lower mattress of one of the bunkbeds) somehow that doesn't enter right here at this site.
Mary Jane's family and friends based in Loboc, Bohol include capable travel planners/tour guides, a real estate agent, driver and transportation as well as other services available like laundry, food preparation, etc., and girls trained in massage and manicure/pedicure, another who can do cosmetics, and can pretty much provide most anything a traveller there would need or want.
Also if you're interested in a tour of the island we offer better rates than others advertising online.
And, since there didn't seem to be any motorcycle rentals available in Loboc, we just got one, so if you want to get around independently rather than going with our driver that's an option too, for some extra charge.
This is just a normal Filipino native house and may seem small by western standards but as an American with a Filipina wife and daughter it is just fine for a couple or our small family, and it is furnished with dishes, linens, towels, everything needed for a comfortable stay. Though I should add that when we were there with my 3 teenagers it was tight but it didn't matter because we were so busy running around that we didn't hang out there very much.
Houses aren't numbered there, but "Mary Jane's Native House is at Villaflor, Loboc, Bohol" (and "Purok 5") may be enough of an address for taxi drivers, (actually "Villaflor, Loboc, Bohol" narrows it down to a small area and we're about the 10th house on the right hand side going away from downtown) but it probably better and less expensive as well for us to pick you up at the Tagbilaran airport (or boat dock ar Jagna, etc., depending on where you're coming from).
We can help you plan your days, and provide transportation etc. and you won't have to worry about anything.
If you have any worries or questions, please let us know and we will be glad to help.
Also, a reminder that payment for the first night's stay is due upon arrival. And I'm sorry again but we will no longer arrange things ahead of time for guests if these arrangements cost us money out of our pockets (unfortunately we've been burned before doing this). Many things such as transportation, tours and services are available and we can get you the best prices and facilitate a fun and economical stay for you but please realize that things cost money, it is best to discuss any arrangements and agree beforehand to prevent possible misunderstandings.
Only cash is accepted on arrival.
Customers can cancel their reservation free of charge up to 7 Days before arrival. After this date, charges will be applied by the property up to the full cost of the reservation. Deposits paid are non refundable.
