Fabians correctly chose their name to reflect what kind of hostel they want to be: not too sophisticated, but very hospitable, friendly and they make you feel at home, are truly interested in your well-being.
No doors (except for the front door) are locked, but the atmosphere makes you forget about the possibility to abuse that fact.
The bath facilities are still being improved. My suggestion would be to give priority to curtains on the windows as well (or first).

- The Home away from home, for gay backpackers. -
( New staff & new style, since Oktober, but older bookings are still fine, of course. )
Ideal for single travelers, to meet other people on their trip.
This Little Hostel is in an 9 room apartment in the belle etage (1 floor up) of a historic house. Small & cozy, in personal romantic atmosphere.
( Until the 20th of October only a part of the hostel is opened, due renovations )
It has cozy Male Dormitories ( 'Male 7 bed dorms' ) ,
spacious Single Rooms with King-size-bed, ( 'Male 1 bed dorms' ) ,
and spacious Doubles with (Male 2 bed dorms!) .
***** Bed-linen are included.
***** There are cozy beds, no bunk-beds !!!
***** Free wireless Internet access
***** Free Guests kitchen,
where you can cook and share dinner, lunch or breakfast.
***** a light free breakfast is included, (Toast & coffee only)
***** a breakfast-buffet is available, for 3 Euro or on base of donation.
Ask for the champagne &r Ice-cream,
for Egyptian breakfast ( fool & taamiya (felafel), baba ranug and homus,
bio Veggies or Japanese Miso-soup!
Our intention is to create a place to stay in Berlin , which is specially for gay or bisexual, male travelers and backpackers and their friends, to meet each other, enjoy Berlin , alone or together, by day and by night,
and to build a unique, artistic, homely friendly home in a multi-cultural atmosphere, with the taste of shared living in a WG / share-house.
The place has some cheap dorms and some singles and doubles,
and the kitchen has one big table, where everyone can meet..
It is in Berlin - Mitte (Center) - Tiergarten - Moabit.
Mitte means Center, Tiergarten (deer-garden) is the Western part of Mitte, and Moabit is an old quarter in its north-side. So it is in Center -North-West
2 minutes walk away from the River Spree, between Center West (Kudamm) and Center East ( Alex),
Buddhists, Hindus, Jews, Muslims are as welcome as Christians and Atheists, as well as Vegetarians, Musicians and Artists.
Saints and Angels get a discount, Drama queens have to pay extra.
Long term visitors are specially welcome.
CHECK IN is only possible between 9 AM and midnight.
Please choose your arrival time for the check-in accordingly
and make sure that you come at the exact time
which you wrote in your online booking form.

Where is it ?
A from Hauptbahnhof / the central station 20 minutes.
B from Tegel airport ( TXL ) 20 minutes,
C from Schönefeld airport (SXF) to us you need 50 minutes,
Nollendorfplatz, the West's Gay quarter is 10 minutes by U-bahn away,
as well as 10 minutes by night-bus N26 .
Schönhauser Allee, the East's Gay quarter is 15 minutes away,
9 min walk to S-Bahn Beusselstr. , then 6 min by S-bahn or 10 minutes by night-bus N26 + N27.
We are in the district of Berlin Mitte (Middle ) sub-district Tiergarten,
in the fine old multi-cultural residential quarter of Moabit,
founded 1785 by french refugees, named after mount Moab near Jerusalem,
some said it came from the french 'mon habit', (my home)
It is close to the beautiful river Spree and convenient for all local amenities,
with Links to the excellent Berlin transport network.
Hauptbahnhof, the central station of Berlin is only 10 minutes away,
by bus 245 until the stop Alt-Moabit / Gotzkowskistr. across Fabian's.
To the underground / U Bahn Turmstrasse is five minutes walk.

§1) Payment: WE TAKE CASH ONLY! No credit-cards!
You need to pay in cash the full amount of your booking on arrival,
plus a key deposit of 20 .
ATMs / bank machines are everywhere, at stations, air-ports & near from us,
at Alt-Moabit and Turmstraße, as Berliner Volksbank, on the next street corner!
§2) Arrival-times by appointment only, because we are a small hostel,
That is why we need to know your exact arrival time.
From this time on, we wait for you for up to 1 hour,
CHECK IN is only possible between 9 AM and midnight.
Please choose your arrival time for the check-in accordingly
and make sure that you come at the exact time that you wrote
in your online booking form.
Make clear if you mean morning (AM) 9h-12h or evening (PM)! 13h-24h

Once you have checked in, you have got 24 hours access with your own keys.
PLEASE NOTE: If you did not select an arrival time,
the default (automatic) arrival time is 11 am (morning).
In that case we only wait for you until 12 noon !
Please be so kind to tell us, if you are late and cannot make it at time.
Otherwise your booking will be cancelled and your bed made available to others
For waiting for you after the normal check in time,
we charge 5 Euro extra per hour.

Booked days have to be paid in advance.
Refunds are not given, for any reason at all.
§4) No show are charged the first night by their credit card.
5) Check out times: please vacate your room by noon,
on the morning of your departure.
6) Late check out :
Luggage can be left for the day, against an extra charge of 3 Euro per Person,
by making an appointment for picking up the luggage.

Directions
Only until the 8th of November our reception will be at Alt-Moabit 72,
the other entrance of our house.
There you have to ring the bell of 'Kämmerer'
Walk up 3 floors. Downstairs we count as 0, the first up is 1, then 2., then 3.
the door on the left side has the sign 'Fabians'
Please do not ring other bells.

Our hostel is in Berlin - Mitte (Center) - Tiergarten - Moabit.

A)
From Berlin Hauptbahnhof ( =Central Station )
take the exit toward 'Europa Platz'.
Outside, cross the square and walk to the bus stop.
From there, either take a taxi, which
costs 7 Euro and takes up to 4 persons.
Or take the bus 245, for 2 per person
until 'Alt-Moabit' / 'Gotzkowskistrasse'.
At the bus stop, cross the road, it's name is 'Alt-Moabit',
and walk left on the other side,
until you come to a little street on your right hand side,
named Zinzendorf Straße ,
Here is our house at number 9, in the ground floor is a bicycle-shop
THERE IS NO SIGN big sign, just press the bell with the name
'FABIAN'
Make sure, you do not ring any other bell!
After the big main door, you have to pass a smaller glass-door at your left,
then walk only one floor upstairs.
Upstairs, our door is at the right side.
Fabian's is above the bike shop, at Zinzendorf Str. 9,
on the corner where Zinzendorfer Strasse 9 meets Alt Moabit 72.
(B)
From Tegel airport, TXL,
Take a taxi for about 10 , which takes up to four persons.
Or take the bus TXL, about 2 per person.
Get off at Turmstrasse / Beusselstrasse.
From there, continue walking in the same direction where the bus headed, along Turmstrasse.
Turn right at Gotzkowskystrasse, ,,cross Zwingli Str, go on until you arrive at Alt Moabit Street .
There you turn left. Walk 100 meters
At the bus stop, cross the road, it's name is 'Alt-Moabit',
and walk left on the other side,
until you come to a little street on your right hand side,
named Zinzendorf Straße ,

E ) Yesterday someone walked from Tegel Airport, it was a nice walk, as reported, and took 3 hours only.
