stayed here over new years in rio.

location is on the top of a pretty steep hill. it's about a 10-15 minute walk to copacabana beach on one side, and about 10 minutes to rio sul shopping mall on the other side of the hill, so it's pretty central. the hill is steep, but you get used to it. there is a subway stop and major bus stop on either side, which is nice to get around the city.

the place is old, but they have 2 computers that can be used at any time, as well as WiFi throughout the house. hot water lasts for less than 10 minutes, so shower quickly and early (if other people are staying there too).

The staff is super friendly. they try to have 1 worker available who speaks english since the owners (mother and son) speak only portuguese. breakfast is simple, but good and they will serve you after 10am (when it says breakfast ends).
