Budget Accommodation South America Argentina Bariloche Hostels Bariloche Backpackers Hostel
The staff is helpful and the location is great, but the dorms are small and kind of dirty. There was gum on the undersides of the bunk beds, etc. Bathrooms are fine. The hostel is also very loud and almost every sound carries- bring earplugs.
The most central backpacker's hostel in town is also one of the best - a well stocked kitchen, huge, comfortable lounge area and a mellow little patio outside for smoking purposes.
Our hostel is a place to start your adventure with the Patagonia nature, meet people from around the world and get fun in the places nearby… Our multilingual and friendly stuff will give you all information about outdoor activities and things to do for your happy staying in Bariloche (ask for our special offer in kayaking Patagonia Lakes)... The common area is a large and warm place to stay when the weather is not good...
Hostelling in Argentina has come a long way in a short time, and this place is a prime example. It wasn't too long ago that the only dorm beds available in the country were cold, institutional cots in gusty, flavorless halls.
The Bariloche Backpacker's Hostel turns all that on its head - you're never going to be sharing a room with more than six people, and the whole place has a pleasant, homey feel to it. Add to that the lake and mountain views (that some hotels in town charge through the nose for) and you can see that this one is a bargain indeed.
The hostel has 3 levels and 8 rooms. The ground floor includes reception, guest kitchen, dining room, living room, barbecue area, bathroom. The first level has two dorms with six beds each, a shared room with 4 beds, one room two beds and two bathrooms to share. The second level has three dorms with 4 beds each, 1 double bedroom and shared bathroom. Linen included and lockers in bedroom, 24hrs hot water.
The address: Av. San Martin 82, in front of Centro Civico, Bariloche city. From the bus station take one of the buses 20, 21 or 10 and get off at National Park bus stop, the hostel is in front. From the airport take a taxi or the bus 72 that ends at the center of Bariloche.

The hostel is also very loud and almost every sound carries- bring earplugs. Also the living room, dining room, and kitchen are all one room with minimal seating. If you plan to use the kitchen, forget it because every night we were there they had a meal planned (expensive too, 35 pesos a piece for pasta or pizza) and there was no room for anyone else to cook because the kitchen is tiny. The backyard BBQ area is also a small patio with 2 chairs and a BBQ grill that may or may not work. Not a very good deal for the price.
