Just a note to all travellers. Express my disappointment on arrival. It was cold and my plane ( Tiger Airways) landed at 9pm. After going through immigration and customs and awaiting for the shuttle pick up ( which arrived at 10.45pm instead of 10pm) I arrived at the Australian Backpackers after 11pm. The door was closed and I kept ringning and knocking at the door. No one opened it. Fortunately there was a tenant who opened the front door and I was let in from the " cold" .... more

Australia Backpackers is a family owned and managed hostel, located just minutes walk from the bustling heart of Fremantle in Western Australia.
Located on the corner of Beach St. and Parry St. Fremantle, the hostel is about 150 meters east from the Fremantle train station and bus terminal.
Housed in a former hotel, the hostel has 117 beds in thirty six rooms and nine bathrooms.
A huge commercial style kitchen with 7 cooking stations and a large walk in fridge makes cooking meals a pleasure.
All activities are catered for, including free pool table, table tennis, games, videos and satellite TV.Free tea and coffee is provided.
There is a fully licensed bar onsite and outside is a large, sheltered court yard with bar-b-que area.
An in-house tour desk provides a wealth of local information and tour bookings.
Friendly, helpful staff and a resident manager ensure a safe and happy stay.

Family room ( 2 adults 2 children)
Twin rooms (min 2 persons).
Single rooms.(1 person).
Female only dorms.
Male only dorms.
Mixed dorms.
In the event of cancellations or part cancellations we will not credit your deposit against remaining booking.
Deposit paid on canceled booking must be requested from the website or agent with whom you placed the booking.

After going through immigration and customs and awaiting for the shuttle pick up ( which arrived at 10.45pm instead of 10pm) I arrived at the Australian Backpackers after 11pm. The door was closed and I kept ringning and knocking at the door. No one opened it. Fortunately there was a tenant who opened the front door and I was let in from the " cold" . On ringing the phone number I was told that the reception was closed. I informed that I had made a booking through the internet and have informed them of my late arrival. I was also told by the reception that nobody should let me in . Was I suppose to sleep on the streets if I was to arrive late ( even knowing very well that I had made the booking).Please note that all Tiger Airways flight arrives at 9pm. If after checking through the customs and immigration ( if you decide to have a bite) keep in mind the FRONT DOOR IS LOCKED AT 11pm and you might have to sleep on the streets with the ABROGINES if the reception refuse to let you in- DISSAPPOINTED TRAVELLER

Directions
Australia Backpackers is located at 4 Beach St. Fremantle Western Australia. Take a train or bus from Perth (about 1/2 an hour). Walk 150 meters up Beach St. or take the free CAT bus (orange buses) which stops at the door. We are also happy to arrange airport shuttle bus ( rates on application)
