Tanzania is renowned for being the gateway to the Serengeti and annually, thousands flock through its borders in order to (hopefully) glimpse the migrating herds of wildebeest across its famed plains and see one of the few truly natural hunting grounds where predator and prey are free to roam, graze and hunt uninhibited. What visitors to Tanzania are simply astounded by (something National Geographic does not always highlight) are the other fantastic locations and the warmth and inviting nature of the Tanzanian people.
Situated at the foothills of Mount Meru in the city of Arusha, Tanzania, the ABA-Arusha budgets Hotel located next to Arusha Declarations tower.

This is a Trusted Review. Why?
Staff were very friendly on arrival. Allowed me to inspect the room to be sure I was happy before I signed in. The room was clean and easily big enough for a couple to share.
The bathroom faced out on to the street and had windows from ceiling to about a foot from the floor, which was a little off putting, but I found later that this is the only room with this problem. Curtains drawn fixes that problem. Check on Hot water for shower upon arrival as they run on a generator and it takes about half an hour to heat up.
Alfred, the manager was very friendly and helpful, assisting in travel plans for shuttle from Arusha to Nairobi. Took the time to chat. Shuttle and trucks for safaris will pick you up at your front door.
Breakfast is included although it is fruit, and eggs on toast, juice and tea/coffee which seems to be the staple for hotels in Tanz.
Restaurant is not really there yet. Only a few choices although the Swahili Chicken was delicious as was the spanish omelette in the morning.
Central Markets are a two minute walk away.
Laundry facilities are available at reception.
Rooms serviced daily.
Definitely would recommend for those on a mid range budget. Price was reasonable. Best to book one night then ring direct to confirm and discuss cost. Prices are usually cheaper when negotiated person to person. Prices online are not what you pay in person. Much cheaper.
