Central. Lovely. Romantic.Beautifull. Historical. Only private rooms. Quiet street, building and apartment. Self-catering (full kitchen available). Free internet adsl CABLE.
CHECK-IN FROM 2.30 P.M. CHECK-IN FROM 7 P.M. ON WEDNESDAY, THURSDAY AND FRIDAY (a discount of 10 euros will apply).
Ideal for couples in love or high demanding executives traveling alone - a sweet home away from home.

Cooking, heating and hot baths anytime you need (silence hour between 24 and 6.30 am).

Gay-friendly. We speak english, french and spanish.

Electric fan; Electric heating ; hi-fi; table and chairs; reading lights; linen included (towels also). Mattresses are new. The best 2008 Lisbon guides to lend for free.

Very noisy area: refuse collection at night; under flight path; if shutters closed to keep out noise, then room very stuffy - no ventilation. The apartment itself ( or at least my room, the 'Blue Room') was not quiet as there was a child above running around very noisily.
No fire escape - not advised of fire escape procedure.
Main dissatisfaction: not clear in advance that female owner lives on premises together with female friend. I was told that owner did not want a man (i.e. me) 'hanging around kitchen just because there was a woman (i.e. the friend) in the next room' !! I made little use of the kitchen and only used the bathroom regularly for my morning shower. I did not feel that a 'full kitchen [was] available' to me.
Owner was friendly enough but needs to be more honest about actual arrangements in the apartment. I didn't bother making an issue of these matters with the owner as I enjoyed my stay in Lisbon despite the apartment.
A very nice and welcoming place which is very well located, but complicated to access with a car (really hard to park). The host was very friendly, the room clean and homely. We had a very good stay!

Directions
Bus 745 from Airport, direction Stª Apolónia - exit at Rossio, ONLY 30 MINUTES FROM AIRPORT. Or Aerobus from airport, direction Cais do Sodré, exit at Rossio,60m.
If you come by train exit at Lisboa Stª Apolónia and take the Metro to Baixa/Chiado (two stations).
We strongly advise you not to travel by car because 1) everything is just so near, and 2) legal parking is difficult and a bit expensive.
From Bus or Metro Rossio or Restauradores: look for the new yellow building in Praça da Figueira, a square right next to Rossio square; Rua dos Douradores is there, walk 200m and you will find us.
From metro Baixa/Chiado: exit direction Baixa (sign R. do Ouro), walk straight forward 300m untill you see a church. Turn left to R. dos Douradores after the church. Number 134 is next to the hairdresser.
