This is a Trusted Review. Why?

Nice hostel not too distant from metro with a bit noisy street. I was staying overnight from Friday midnight and had a problem to get inside since the door was locked and I needed to phone through mobile I lent on the street (taxophone was out of service) twice before a host get down and let in. Otherwise the rooms are clean, neat and non expensive. English speakers can rely upon small talk to solve their small problems. All in all, it is a good choice for a rest in taking on Madrid.

This is a Trusted Review. Why?

I was fairly happy with my room except for one thing; there was no cooling in the form of a fan or air con. Personally I think this is ludicrous in a country such as Spain with such a warm climate. Maybe the Spanish don't feel the heat but I did on my first night there. Apart from that it was quite a nice place to stay.

Clean and cheap hostal with lovely rooms. I stayed in a private ensuite room which had its own bathroom and TV, and wi-fi is free of charge. Good location for visting central Madrid- a 5 minute walk from Iglesia Metro Station from where you can get to Sol and Gran Via within 10 minutes. A bit noisy at night, but Madrid is a noisy city and I expect this would be an issue wherever you stayed unless you stayed in a more expensive hotel. In any case, I managed to sleep fine both nights! Staff were friendly, although there wasn't anybody there when I first arrived to check in despite it being past the advertised check in time- a quick phonecall sorted this out though and the girl arrived very apologetic within 5 minutes. Overall I was pleased with my stay here and would definately stay here again!
