Located the closest to the Metro and the Local Zona Rosa, The Wandering Paisa offers the most authentic cultural experience in Medellin. We seek to immerse travelers in the local Paisa culture while providing them with a safe and comfortable place to stay.

**love sports?** we now have DirectTV, featuring most Champions League, NBA, NFL and other professional sports games. with over 14 channels dedicated to sports!

*we now offer FREE salsa lessons!*

We are located in the upscale neighborhood of Laureles, a block from the local hotspots of La Setenta and La 33, where prices are affordable, the locals are plenty and the bar/club scene is vibrant. We also are less than 5 minutes walking from the Metro system, which can bring you virtually anywhere in the city.

Our knowledgeable and bilingual staff will be more than happy to provide you with any information on tourist activities in Medellin and the surrounding areas as well as make bookings for tourist activities and airport pickups.

Decorated with a bohemian theme that pays tribute to South American and Colombian culture, our hostel boasts some of the best services in town. With 4 dorms (no larger than 8 beds each) and 3 privates, every room in our hostel has its own unique country theme, each hand painted by local art students.

In our rooms, we have the best bunks in Medellin, designed with privacy dividers, orthopedic mattresses, and a locker for storage under the bed. Most importantly, these beds are not the kind that squeak or move when you climb up, allowing you to sleep comfortably in peace and quiet. We also have six fully remodeled bathrooms, with 24-hour hot water and brand-new computer workstations.

Inside the hostel, travelers can relax and play Nintendo Wii on our 42-inch plasma screen T.V. equipped with cable television and a large selection of DVDs. For stunning views of the surrounding mountains, travelers can climb to the top of our castle-like terrace located on the roof of the building. If you are feeling social, you can kick it in our 'Paisa Bar' which serves both nonalcoholic and alcoholic beverages.

Occasionally, local musicians have been known to play live music on our sundeck/stage, while travelers chill out on hammocks and listen to the grooves on the nearby balcony. We also have a huge kitchen, speedy laundry service, high-speed Internet access and free wifi.

*We also offer spanish lessons and volunteer work*

*****For Paragliding, come enjoy the colombian thermic flying conditions in a paraglider parapente, which professional paragliders have said to have the smoothest easiest climbing and 'bodie' thermals that can exist. There is a great end of the day glassoff, where maintaining altitude is no problem and completely smooth laminar air. We offer tours for these great conditions and this awesome experience. Ask our reception for more info. ********

Awesome 89%

My brother and I stayed here for a handful of nights, choosing this hostel out of a handful of others we blindly sought out. After we arrived, we were soooo thankful that we picked the biggest, cleanest and friendliest hostel.
The young American owners have obviously put a lot of time, money and effort into designing.... every dorm room, refurbished with handmade and sturdy wood bunk beds and painting every room into a creative depicture of different countries in South America.
The bathrooms were plentiful and clean within the two story building, day beds and hammocks to relax in and not to forget the third story nook (called the castle) to have a private smoke.... The kitchen was was equipped and clean, there were multiple computers to use, washer and dryer at cost and finally.. Bogotas microbrew on tap in the bar!
We abolutely loved this place and would recommend it to anyone who wants a SECURE altnerative to the party going El Poblado. The hostel has an Exito market and comdia tipca restaurants near by and is located off the Estadio Metro were you can connect to any other part of the city. The Estadio is also where you can run some laps for an early morning jog in Medellins gorgeous and free athletic centro.
Thank you Wandering Paisa!
