Not as clean as you would expect. Apart from that, nice location in Brooklyn, nice service, nice tenant, cheapest (have in mind the cost of a night when you check in cause it may change if you don't). Herman, the tenant, gave me good advices to find stuff i needed for my twisted ankle.
On top of that, good atmosphere amongs travelers.
all of these 'good' reviews are probably the owner writing them himself. horrible apartments (saw a roach), disgusting beds (bedbugs for sure), next to a bad neighborhood, rude staff who refuse to give receipts, overall awful experience. this is not new york. be ready to get overcharged here!
The WORST hostel i have ever seen. Even after travelling Central America for 5 months. Doors can't be locked, in the middle of nowhere, hard to find, very dirty, basement with fungus, no working WIFI, no staff, and the manager is a complete jerk. This hostel is a fraud and should be banned from all bookingssites! They even write their own reviews. Assholes.

It was actually my worst night in New York! The Hostel is at the end of the world and in a really dirty and scary district. The manager was not really friendly at all only as he asked us to review his hostel with 100%...
The rooms an the living room were dirty as well, we had no internet at our room as well and my sheets had several stains. There were no top sheets just the raw blanket (which was washed, of cause..).
The bedroom was stuffy and hot and we couldn't sleep at night because of ongoing catfights in front of our window!!
All in all I am happy that I had to stay there just for one night and I will never come back and will not recommend it so anybody!

From JFK and Laguardia airports:
From JFK and Laguardia you can get a taxi for $30. Alternatively, you can get an airport express shuttle bus from outside the international arrivals for about $20. The journey will take approximately 25 minutes depending on traffic. For a more economic option, you can opt for public transportation (see below).
By Public Transportation from JFK airport:
Take the A train to the A Subway
Take the A Subway to Broadway Junction
Take the L train towards Manhattan until Lorimer Street
Take the G and get off at Myrtle Willoughby Exit
