The staff here were all really friendly and helpful, especially Julian! It is very clean and good for the price you pay. However there's not a lot to do in this area so be prepared for a lot of walking or u-bahn rides to get anywhere interesting in the city.
The wifi worked ok, but dropped out a lot in our room.
It says on travellers point there is a washing machine and self catering facilities... Well the washing machine costs a fortune to use (€9 per jacket down to €0.50 per pair of socks!) and the self catering facilities amount to a fridge in you room, no cooking facilities or kettle etc. This was a bit annoying when you're travelling and trying to save money. Don't mind if somewhere doesn't have a kitchen you can use, just they should be honest about it on here.
Other than, its a very friendly, clean hotel with helpful staff and you get a free mini packet of haribo everytime your room gets cleaned!

My first stay at the Akademy Hotel Berlin was wonderful. It was what I booked, a single room, shared bath with breakfast included. The room was small, yet immaculate, with a tv, small refrigerator, free internet that worked wonderfully, and the bathroom was steps away. Fantastic! So fantastic that it turned out I needed to return about 1 week later, and I re-booked.

The staff is absolutely friendly and welcoming. My only drawback is its location can be slightly difficult to get to from the train station by public transport, but if you're an intrepid traveller, you'll make it here just fine. It truly is fairly close (within a 15-minute walk) to the Potsdamer Platz and Sony Center. And the underground railway is only a 5-minute walk away, just around the corner.

It's called Akademy Hotel because it is attended to by students who, when selected, must also attend courses in Hotel management. This is their method of practical experience and they do a fabulous job. Also, because of this, their product is top-notch and the price is beyond reasonable, when you consider you're staying in Berlin. This is also the reason I gave it 2 stars for its facilities. Remember, these ratings are based on the value you're getting for the rate they're charging you. There is no pool, sauna, or fitness center. No gourmet restaurant. Just an outstanding place to sleep and take care of some work, where it is clean and the staff is friendly, helpful and willing to do what they can for you.

Please make Akademy Hotel in Berlin one of the places you'll put in your address book when considering a trip to Berlin.
