Latest Review for East Side Hostel

This is a Trusted Review. Why?

Very unkind person in the hostel.
The room was dirty.
We asked a 6-bed room, but we got a double bed (with a hard mattress) and a mattress on the floor.
We almost couldn't close the door. We decided to move to an other hostel, which was perfect! (Aventura Hostel)

About East Side Hostel

Internet Access

Budapest's grooviest hostel – recommended by Lonely Planet! East Side offers a Danube River view from the balcony and the safest location in town – nearby the magnificent Parliament Building and Hungary's Ministry of Defense, our charming neighborhood is guarded 24 hours a day.

East Side is also close to several of Budapest's major tram and metro stops, making it easy to get here – and once you've arrived, the easy life continues in our laid-back hostel, friendly and cozy with a comfy common lounge and kitchen area, where our manager - who is studying to become a professional chef - often prepares Hungarian dishes and treats to share with hostel guests.

Meanwhile, East Side's young staff knows all the tips and tricks for having a cheap and fun stay in Budapest, from getting around to the thermal baths, museums and attractions, to making the most of the city's wild nightlife. Margaret Island (a huge park that's home to Budapest's most popular open-air beer gardens and dance clubs) lies just a 10-minute walk away… and a 17-minute stagger back.

Free food, free Internet, free bike usage, free linens and free-spirited people… what more could you want? Eastern Europe begins at East Side Hostel!

Really cosy hostel. Small and little privacy, but all the facilities needed for a backpacker is there and the local knowledge of the staff was superb. Rumours that there was a hole in one of the beds, but since you'll probably be wasted (Budapest's famous nightlife) when you go to bed it doesn't matter.

Buses, trams, and occasionally metros work on the honor system, but make sure to validate your tickets when boarding, because undercover inspectors target backpackers!
