Located in the city centre of Budapest, we are a small and cosy independent hostel run by travelers for travelers. We are a 2-minute walk away from Metro Line 2 and 3, and in walking distance of most of Budapest’s sights.
The youthful Ginkgo staff offers a fresh and well-informed insider perspective on what to do in Budapest. They await you with a “Best of Budapest” to-do list of ruin pubs, bars, clubs, restaurants and thermal baths, all within 10 minutes walking distance from Gingko Hostel.
When staying with Gingko, you’ll get far more than just a bed in a hostel: you can feel at home away from home. Whether you are with friends, a significant other or travelling solo, here you can meet other like-minded people who can help you make your trip unforgettable.
Are you tired of walking? You’re in luck! We’ve got bikes that you can rent and you can ask our receptionists for a free map so you definitely won’t get lost while wandering around Budapest.
Arriving late? No problem: there’s someone at reception 24/7 so you can check in any time you want. We also provide free internet access to all our guests and if you don’t want to take on the city on an empty stomach, you can order a cheap basic breakfast at reception the night before.
Do you crave some privacy? We’ve got double private rooms for you. If you’d rather stay in a dorm room, that’s not a problem either: we have 6 and 7-bed dorms for you to choose from.
We are an LGBTQ+ friendly hostel.

This is a Trusted Review. Why?
I got everything for I asked for, for a very reasonable price. I have nothing to complain about, just wanted to say I enjoyed my stay to the fullest.
The staff are nice, helpfull and easygoing and the facilities provide everything you need.
Though it would be nice to be able to use the wi-fi in bed with phone etc..
But that's just a small issue.
Anyway this is my choice of hostel when I come by next time.
