About HomePlus Hostel

Internet Access 24 hour reception

Home+ Hostel is your home away from home, plus a lot more. We are a comfortable, friendly, bright, safe and well equipped small hostel where you can stay in mixed larger rooms or smaller private rooms.

We are located in the heart of Budapest, near the Danube river, between the Parliament and Margaret bridge, on the Pest side of the river. Margaret island is just a five minute walk where you can enjoy the outdoors, plus a lot more.

Since we are located near the Margaret bridge, you can choose between discovering the city center or walking over the bridge to the more residential area where the royal castle is located. Don't forget to stop on the bridge to take the best 'Budapest at night' photo :)

Our goal is to give you what we would like to get if we were travelling abroad and to make you feel at home. We do that by speaking good English, giving you sightseeing tips, providing you with all the info you may need, keeping the place clean and offering you a variety of pc, audio and video services.

Your hosts, Andrew and company, we all love our work, we all love our guests and we like to see everybody happy.

We had a great time in Budapest, especially when we realised that Home Plus was in the mere center of the city, by the river, and we could go almost everywhere on foot... The stuff is very, very kind and helpful and the accomodation is just perfect. We had all we needed and next time we visit lovely Budapest, we're gonna stay in Home Plus again. Ana and Andrew, thank you very much for your hospitality.

When you are at number 27, pls type in door code #53 and we will open the door for you. Go up the left stairs and you will see the hostel at the top of the stairs (lst floor mezzanine).

You can find our hostel with the following public transportation:

Metro 2 - red line
Metro 3 - blue line
Tram: 2, 4, 6
Bus: 6, 26, 91, 191
Night bus: 914, 923, 950
Train from the Airport Terminal 1
Bus Nr 200 from the Airport Terminal 1,2

Whatever the type of transportation, please get off at Jászai Mari
tér(Jászai Mari square) .


and Balassi Balint street is right there. If McDonald's is on your right, then pls turn left on to Balassi Balint street.


TRAIN


If arriving at Eastern (Keleti) Railway Station (trains from Vienna) or at the Southern (Déli) Railway Station (trains from Croatia, Slovenia), pls use the Metro2 – red line.

Get off at Kossuth ter (square). Then change for tram 2 (the Parliament will be in front of you) and go north 2 stops and get off at the final stop: Jászai Mari ter (Jászai Mari square). Walk back 50 meters and there is the hostel. See above details.

Travel fare: you need to buy a transfer ticket for about 280 HUF (1.20 EUR).
Duration of journey to the hostel about 25-30 minutes. Tickets are sold at the metro or at kiosks. Pls validate your ticket at the machines at the entrance of the metro. For trams, you can validate your ticket after boarding the tram. You can't buy tickets inside the metro car or tram car. You can't take bicycles on the metro/tram/bus.

If arriving at the Western (Nyugati) Railway Station, pls use the tram #4 or #6.

This tram stops exactly in front of the train station. Please take the tram in the direction of Margit híd (Margaret bridge) towards the river. You only need to go one stop to Jászai Mari tér (Jászai Mari square).

Travel fare: from the Western Railway Station, you only need a single ticket (the cheapest one). Duration of journey to hostel about 5
mins. by tram, by foot about 10 mins. max.

AIR

Ferihegyi Repülô tér (Terminals 1 and 2)

From Airport Terminal 1:

The train to the city stops near the terminal building and runs every half
hour. It will take you to the Western (Nyugati) Railway Station in
about 25 minutes. The ticket for the train costs 300 HUF (approx. 1.20
EUR). Between 9 am and 10 pm you can purchase the ticket at the
Tourinform office in the Terminal building. Outside of these hours,
tickets can be purchased on the train. From the Western Railway Station
follow the directions as detailed above.

From Airport Terminal 2:

Public buses (Reptéri bus from the BKV company) Bus #200 stops in front of the arrival area. You can use it to transfer to Airport Terminal 1 or you can get off at the final stop, which is the beginning of the Metro3 – blue line. You get on the metro at Kôbánya-Kispest and you get off at the Western (Nyugati) Railway Station. From there, please follow the directions in the section : Train arriving to Nyugati Railway station as above.

Airport Shuttle Bus

If you want a bus that takes you directly to the hostel, but is cheaper than a taxi, look for the Airport Minibus. The office is in the arrival area.

Travel fare: 2300 HUF (9 euro). We can arrange for this shuttle bus in advance. Pls let us know two days before the trip. Duration of journey takes about one hour.


TAXI

Travel fare varies between 4000-5000 HUF (16–20 EUR). We can arrange for a taxi to wait for you when you arrive. Please let us know two days in advance.
Duration of journey takes about 30-40 minutes. All taxis have meters.


NÉPLIGET INTERNATIONAL BUS STATION (Népliget Nemzetközi Buszállomás)

International buses arrive at the Népliget buses station. When you
arrive, take Metro3 and go in the direction of Újpest Városközpont. Get
off at Western (Nyugati) Railway Station. From there as above under
Train arriving to Western Train Station.

Travel fare: You have to buy two section tickets for 280 HUF (1,20 EUR).
Duration of trip: about 30 minutes.
