This is a Trusted Review. Why?

As a slightly older traveller I was happy to get a single room for only $41 which represented good value. The room itself was very small but that didn't matter as a roof over the head is all you want from a hostel. The room was pretty manky though with rubbish under the bed, the carpet looked like it had seen many a decade and was pretty dirty, the walls were dirty and the bedside unit was covered in sticky stuff, the source of which I don't want to imagine. There was a night club next door/round the corner with music thumping away to the early hours but the location in a busy hub of Perth is part of it's appeal. As I say, if a roof over the head is all you need then this is fine but just a little bit of spit and polish wouldn't go astray. I have stayed in many hostels where the facilities are immaculate, just because it's a hostel is no excuse for dirty rooms. Run down and used is acceptable, but not dirty, please. Having said that I am not fussy and would probably stay there again because of its location but I imagine many might be put off by the state of the room I was in. Also, the rest of the hostel was very clean, bathroom, toilets, showers, so why not take the time to clean the rooms.

This is a Trusted Review. Why?

I was very pleased with my stay. The only thing that I would have liked to have in the room, and that was absent, was a mirror. It would have been perfect if the lift had been working.
