R N' R Hostel @ Rick N' Roll Music Cafe is for the social soul traveler who likes to meet people, have fun and loves nature. Simulated surfing is just around the corner and down the beach at the Surf House Phuket the only place for non-stop surf action... O' Yes, Location, Location Location ... We are only a 5-minute walk to beautiful Kata Beach and its amazing Tropical House Reef. This reef is a must see and do for sunbathers, snorkelers and divers. R N' Hostel is an Official PADI Dive Resort offering the full line of Dive & Snorkeling Courses.
Our Hostel has clean and comfortable dormitory rooms. One all-female dorm and two mixed dorm rooms have air-conditioning an en suite in room bathroom, personal lockers and a large vanity mirror. For the budgeted traveler we do provide one smaller dorm room with fans, lockers and a downstairs shared bathroom. All rooms have oversized mattresses and large balconies.
For your convenience, the hostel provides free wifi, free luggage storage, laundry, motorbike rental services and an on-site budget tour desk featuring Scuba Diving, Phi Phi Island Day Tours, James Bond Kayak Excursions & Canopy Zip Lining the Ultimate Jungle Experience. There is a 2 day minimum and a 24 hour cancellation or R N' R Hostel has the right to charge you a 'no-show' fee which is equal to the price of the first night of your stay.
Please Note: RNR does provide a fan only dorm for the budgeted traveler this dorm is a smaller dorm room with a downstairs separate shared bathroom and is fan only. If you book this fan only dorm please note that you can upgrade to air depending unavailability.

This was truly a pleasant surprise. I figured, because of the comparatively low cost of a bed, that it would be lacking in location, service, or facilities but it delivered spades in all! The staff was of paramount friendliness and the owner Rick is a real genuine spirit. The hostel has everything I look for in a backpackers, Air conditioned room with clean sheets, a bathroom cleaned daily, next to the best afternoon market in town and shopping as well as 5 minutes walk to the beach. Even the street was quiet at night and Rick shuts down the hostel bar around midnight so everyone can enjoy a quiet sleep. They offered excellent diving instruction and services and were quick to give advice on the area and scooter rentals. And to top it all off there is a selection of wildlife Rick is passionate to introduce to the travellers; a large talking parrot, a softshell turtle and some magnificently cool sea horses! If I was to have one complaint it would be a few bugs in the bar/lobby in the evening but that's impossible to escape in the area and even then Rick was quick to offer bug spray which quickly quashed the problem. They allowed guests to choose playlists and films in the evenings and the bar had a great energy; a few ex-pats and tourists mingling over drinks and cards but never the electronic-fueled Euro trash atmosphere you find so often ruining Thailand. Kata beach is a real gem in Thailand; holds all the western conveniences but isnt entirely ruined by the tourists. The beach was soft, white and stunning for a mile. Never go to Patong people, get 15 minutes further to Kata you won't be sorry! Thanks guys! ~Willo~
