The worst accommodation we have ever experienced in our life. Disgusting building. 2 showers and 2 toilets for at least 5 double rooms. Toilets located 2-3 meters from something what pretended to be dining room. Very dirty rooms, showers, toilets, worn towels and beddings. We had a feeling our bedding has not been changed. Broken window. Worn and unsuitable curtains, too short to block the light at night time. Tiny room, one person only could walk around it, when the second must sit on bed. Rooms are on the 3rd flood, no lift, new guests have to phone an Icelandic phone number to enter the building (no country code apparently) so people without roaming can wait for ages. No reception, guest unable to contact staff. Check out at 10:30 what can be problematic as guests flying back in the evening cannot leave a suitcase/backpack. This place seems to be some kind of cheap accommodation for immigrant workers (quite common type of accommodation for immigrants).

This is a Trusted Review. Why?

The guesthouse is located quite close to the city center (10 minutes walk), and looks nice as such. Unfortunately, though we had a confirmed booking, when we arrived they said there was no room for us. We were then transferred to a normal flat further from the center, which is used as guesthouse as well. From there it takes at least 40 minutes to walk to the city center. Though we got a little discount, we were quite unhappy - but what could we do. The rooms were nice. However, kitchen and bathroom were that dirty that we spent as little as possible time in the flat in the end, and didn't even want to touch the things they put in the fridge there for breakfast. The guys working there are really cool and do their best to make the stay nice for guests. However, in total it was the worst accomodation of our whole trip to Iceland, and one of the most expensive at the same time.

This is a Trusted Review. Why?

I've been staying there for a month and I can say that all the hair-raising descriptins of the facilities and services offered there are non-sensical.
Great location: Laugavegur is just around the corner, 20 min walk from the University of Iceland; really kind people always ready to help; if I happen to go to Iceland again I will stay at the Pavi for sure.

This is a Trusted Review. Why?

The owner was extremely rude and condescending. I would never stay here again, even though the price and location were fairly good.
