I can’t praise this place highly enough, especially the friendly and helpful service my wife and I enjoyed from Liam and Amy. They were the soul of kindness and Liam went well out of his way to help us in lots of ways.
Wonderful welcoming atmosphere from terrific, knowledgeable and witty hosts; and a fine location, far enough from the hubbub of city-centre life but also near enough for most things worth seeing and doing being never more than a ten-minute walk.

Highly recommended. We’ll definitely be back

We had a great stay at Fairman House for two nights in August. We are a family of four and we stayed in a 4 bedded room, two bunk beds. The room was very compact but manageable. There were three bathrooms in the hostel and this sometimes caused a bit of a queue but generally things worked out ok. The bathrooms and living room/kitchen were very clean and user friendly. We were welcomed and looked after by Liam. DIY breakfast is included in the very reasonable prices and comprises of cereals, bread/toast and eggs. This is a very comfortable hostel and not too far from the town centre. It is a steep walk down and then a steep walk back home after a night out. Keeps you fit.
