Devagiri Retreat is originally a 40-year-old Coffee Estate and a farm run by the Hodachalli family. The newly integrated Devagiri Retreat Homestay within the coffee estate is a family-operated business provding quality Homestay facilities.
Bed-and-Breakfast inn facilities are also available for those on shoestring budget and wish to tread the untrodden paths of India.
We are situated in the rural plantation setup of India which gives you a rural point of view, and an in-depth knowledge of the farming communities in India and not to forget the Indian food.
We also arrange pick-up and drop off services and tour assistance to small groups.
Conditions
The homestay or the hostel is clean and located within 40 acres of coffee estate. The surroundings are obviously green and the air is clean. The water is abundunt.
There is suffecient parking space and there are good trekking trails around the place.

From Bangalore (Which is the closest major hub):
Drive from Bangalore towards Nelamangala. In Nelamangala, take the National Highway 48 towards Mangalore. Keep driving on in NH 48 towards Mangalore. You will cross the towns of Kunigal, Chennrayapatna, Hassan and Sakleshpur. Once you cross Sakleshpur, at the 13th Kilometer, you will see "Devagiri Retreat" board. Devagiri Retreat is on your left-hand side when driving from Bangalore.
From Mangalore (The closest airport to our Homestay):
Distance is 120 KM's. Drive towards Sakleshpur from Mangalore on National Highway 48. Devagiri Retreat is to the right-hand side once you cross the village of Maranahalli. The village where Devagiri Retreat is located is called Heggadde.
You can take trains from either Mangalore or Bangalore and the stop to get off is Donigal. You can hitch a ride on local transportation to Heggadde village or better, let us know in advance and we can arrange.
