Olive (the host) was absolutely lovely! From the moment I walked in to the moment I left, she was always there offering me her assistance...whether it be offering a glass of water or even helping me work out how to get to where I was going next. The room itself was neat and tidy and the bed was hard but comfortable. Evergreen Guesthouse is located a short distance from Malahide Castle and about 20-30 minutes from Dublin airport but it took longer to get to Dublin City Centre. What it lacked in locality, it made up for in serenity...while sitting out the back, all I could hear was the sound of cars passing ever now and then and the occassional dog barking. Very peaceful! So if you're looking for a quiet place to rest your head while exploring Dublin or the night before your flight home, choose Evergreen Guesthouse.
From the moment we were greeted by our fantastic host Olive, it felt like we were about to stay with a relative or a very good friend. On our arrival she refreshed us with a pot of tea and some home-made scones! After, she even gave us a lift into town to gain our bearings of the beautiful surroundings. Olive was always willing to help and to be sure we had a pleasant stay and have plenty of things to see and do throughout the day. Our room was a good size with all the amenities we should need. The bathroom was clean and fresh. The breakfast was to die for! Full Irish breakfast and smoked salmon with scrambled egg were excellent. As well as her constant flow of home-made bread and toast. Nice breakfast room with use of internet, local maps and guides, as well as info and menus of local restaurants. Our departure was very early but a breakfast was still organised for us, as well as the taxis back to the airport. The location was really nice, a little walk to the bus and train station, but all was made worthwhile with Olive's hospitality. Super place to stay whilst staying in and around Dublin, well recommended!!
