Macgabhainns Backpackers Hostel, with the best showers in town. Is located in the heart of the city centre, just a few minutes walk from the railway and bus station. Breakfast includes porridge,corn flakes,toast, tea or coffee,with as much tea/coffee free all day long. Macgabhainns is a small hostel with a cool barbeque area in the garden.

We are also located near pubs with traditional Irish music and some fine restaurants that are quite inexpensive. We are just a short stroll from Kilkenny Castle. Our reception is open until 10pm for check-ins.

Macgabhainns Backpackers Hostel offers a comfortable and friendly atmosphere for weary travelers. With beds in a four bedded room from 15 euros Macgabhainns is the place to stay whilst in kilkenny. We even WASH YOUR DISHES for you

If you get off at railway/bus station, you will see kilkenny house straight on front off you, take the street to the right of this building(Johns Green/wolftone street). Follow this street until you reach the crossroads at Greens bridge, turn left and at the roundabout turn left again. You will see the backpackers hostel from there.
