Budget Accommodation > Middle East > Israel > Nazareth > Hostels > Fauzi Azar Inn
This is a Trusted Review. Why?
An old but renovated building....
It is not quite as idyllic as often portrayed.Facilities are adequate, rules not too bad....
Anything more, in the way of info/advice/customer service
must be carefully coaxed from the operating team.Bear in mind that Nazareth is not particularly interesting, nor genuinely geared to tourists....
It merits merely a day trip!

The Fauzi Azar Inn is a 200 year-old Arab mansion turned guest house that offers dorm and private rooms in a unique old world atmosphere. Touted by Lonely Planet 2007 as "one of the highlights of a stay in the Galilee" and a "great base for touring major sites of the Galilee," the Fauzi Azar offers a laid back atmosphere where guests and staff can meet to share stories and tips.
The Inn is located in the heart of the Souq (market) Quarter. Located just 1 minute
from the vegetable market, and just a few minutes from excellent restaurants and coffee shops, you are never far from your destination. The Basilica of the Annunciation is just 500 meters away through the narrow streets, and is a great decoration for our panoramic views.
The Inn was the mansion of the Azar family, once one of the richest and most powerful families of the Galilee. The Inn is a three-story stone building from the 18th century with a 6 meter high, hand painted ceiling, a Turkish marble floor, a magnificent hall with panoramic views; and a courtyard decorated with stone arches.
Experience the city off the beaten track with a city tour, lead each morning at 10:00am by Nazareth local Ateff Onnala. He brings his knowledge and personal reflections about the rich past of the city. Also, you will feel right at home at the Inn when you sample our cake of the day. Each day our staff bakes a fresh cake from scratch which you can enjoy with a cup of Arabic coffee while you relax in the elegant great hall overlooking the old city.
Finally, you are never too far from home at the Fauzi, with our free wireless internet you can always be in touch with your friends and family at home.
