Budget Accommodation Middle East Israel Tel Aviv Hostels Sky - Hostel
A great central, and cheap place to stay in Tel Aviv.
But one really weird thing about this place is that, although you can't smoke
in the reception area etc.

The hostel is a couple of minutes from the beach and about 10 mins from the main shopping area. I had a private room which was adequately sized for the price but very grubby. The blanket provided was VERY old and the room had no heating. I ended up wearing several layers of clothes each night and it was still cold. If you're going to stay here I would advise to only do it in the summer. The kitchen was horrible and I actually didn't eat there at all choosing to buy my own disposable cutlery. The hostel does have wifi but some of the rooms have no signal at all.
Tel aviv is an amazing place and I hope to come back but I don't think I'll be staying here again.

It is unimaginable to me that anyone who sees
the room I had reserved, paid for upon checking
in, and finally saw, would want to stay the night
in. So I didn't, not wanting to give in to the kind
of mood that leads to suicide. The place is a disgrace
to the universal concept of hospitality. Does the
owner who makes his money this way sleep well
at night?

A great central, and cheap place to stay in Tel Aviv.
But one really weird thing about this place is that, although you can't smoke
in the reception area etc...the smoking area is actually designated IN THE KITCHEN!
Oh well, just another weird and inexplicable way of doing things in Israel perhaps.

I was in Sky-Hotel in March 2011. Also remains it is very happy the Personnel very pleasant and lovely. Since morning gave a cup of coffee and a tasty roll, at first sight a trifle, but all the same it is pleasant. I was in separate number. Number was small but all.что was required.Душ was on a floor, but hot water was always. The place a finding was very convenient in 5 minutes there was a beach. Around it is a lot of shops with it is very tasty a batch.
As a whole my estimation of 5 balls I with pleasure will arrive once again and I will choose this hotel.

The hostel is a disaster for anyone who doesn't smoke. Smoking is allowed throughout, and the lobby and entrance was full of smokers the whole time. The rooms are very small and in need of repair. The chair in my room was broken, the lighting was poor. The room was not cleaned, or sheets changed, even once during my 6 night stay. I had a room not facing the noisy street where this hostel is situated, otherwise it would have been impossible. Bathrooms were in poor shape but cleaned regularly, and showers worked. Some staff were friendlier than others. I wouldn't recommend it, or its partner hostel, Momos, a block away.
it has been said already, but i can just repeat it from word to word!
we with my wife stayed in the room 20 and enjoyed company of the bed bugs!
+the shower was COMPLETE TRASHY looking and dirty
the sheets also had a look of had been slept in before us.
though the price is such that i can only say — if you want something decent, don't expect it from sky hostel.

Staff were mostly very friendly and helpful. The location is a very short walk to the beach, and shops are right outside. This does mean that is can get very noisy at night - outside in the streets and revellers returning to bed late, so not good for light sleepers (I usually sleep like the dead and it woke me up).
Overall impression was of very grubby surroundings, floors, mattress bases and showers in particular - although sheets and towels were clean. Also the window frame didn't fit - leading to my only severe mossie bites of the trip. Still at 30Eu with coffee and a cake for brekkie included it was good value for a central location - just take ear plugs, mossie repelent and shoes for in the showers.

I booked with Sky hostel, but I stayed at Momo's (apparently they work together) which is 50 meters away also on Ben Yehuda (in a single private room).
Momos is a very cheap hostel, so do not expect any luxury (the rooms are small, the kitchen has only rudimentary equipment); you get what you pay for. It is a hostel, not a hotel ! But contradictory to many of the other reviews, it was very clean. The main strenghts of Momos are the friendly and helpful team of people working there, and the good atmosphere in the lobby where you can/will meet with and talk to people from all over the world.
I enjoyed my three weeks stay there.
(In summer, it may be a problem that no air condition is available).Kalle from Germany
