I stayed at Kangaroo Bak Pak for one week. I found it to be very clean and new. All new bathrooms and dorm rooms. The staff helped me find a car and were very nice. If you want a smaller clean hostel then stay here.

Kangaroo BakPak has just undergone renovation work and has a brand new look!
The dorms now have a unique look with the bunks being partially covered by walls, the guests get alittle extra privacy. And with each bed having its own light, electrical plug socket, lockable 'bunk box' for valuables, and freshly delivered pressed linen, you're sure to have a stay to remember!
Kangaroo BakPak has also tripled its number of bathrooms, so no more queues for the shower! Just up, wash and go!

Kangaroo Bakpak is an extremely clean hostel. Set in a beautifully restored Victorian style terrace. Kangaroo Bakpak is a relaxed and friendly place where travellers can enjoy all of the beauty that Sydney living has to offer.
Situated right in the heart of Surry Hills squeezed in between Central Station and Oxford St. It's an interesting multicultural area with plenty of cafes bars and restaurants to suit any budget.
A short walk to Oxford St and the city centre. Just 15 minutes on the bus from Coogee and Bondi Beach with great shopping facilities closeby Kangaroo BakPak makes life easy for any traveller.
The Surry Hills area is an eclectic mix of world cultures. Some of Sydney's best cheap eats are within a stones throw. A pub or bar is available to suit every style and if you enjoy a good coffee there are a number of trendy cafes all within the local area.

Directions
By Plane
If you are arriving at Sydney airport whether it be domestic or International you can get a bus right to our front door.
Outside the terminals there is a mini bus terminal. You can catch the Supershuttles bus for around A$12. Ask to be dropped off at Kangaroo Backpack on South Dowling Street.
By Bus
All buses will drop you off at central station and you can either walk or get a taxi for around $5 Australian.
By Car
We are very close to the city centre and near a few main roads. You should be able to find us quite easily on most decent maps of Sydney.
