The hostel is located in Fortaleza da Barra da Lagoa, a fishing community near Praia Mole where besides enjoying beaches and clubs in the Lagoa da Conceição, you can enjoy other leisure options like walking, surfing, paragliding, kite surfing, stand up paddle, sandboarding and scuba diving.

The FORTALEZA DA BARRA is a welcoming place, beautiful, peaceful and secure environment where you join the life of local fishermen.

You can go walking to Praia Mole (15min) and Barra da Lagoa (30min).

You can also go to Galheta and Barra da Lagoa via trekking trails, along the way you'll see beautiful sights of the lagoon, sea and dunes.

Fortaleza da barra is close to great beaches for surfing.

Only 20 minutes by bus to Lagoa da Conceição where you can make a nice boat trip across the pond or follow up Costa da Lagoa and visit a waterfall and several restaurants serving seafood and even in the Lagoa da Conceição to windsurfing or kite surfing lessons or go to the beach with high dunes of Joaquina where you can practice sandboarding.

In Lagoa da Conceição is the best ballads, pubs, bars with live music and electronics.

Small hostel with only seven beds where you enjoy a family atmosphere, fast wi-fi connection in the common areas and bedrooms, 24 hour kitchen access, quiet neighbourhood - but close to beaches/bars/clubs, male and female bathrooms, small garden, free use of clothes hand-washing facilities and line to hang them out to dry, ceiling fans in the bedrooms.

From the bus station

As you exit the inter-city bus terminal turn right and follow the main road for 50 meters. You will then see the bus terminal (TICEN) on your left. Inside this terminal you can get the bus 320 or 330 to Lagoa da Conceição, it will cost R$2.90. At the Lagoa da Conceição terminal (TILAG), you'll need to get the bus 360 to Barra da Lagoa (free transfer).

Your other option is as you exit the inter-city bus terminal, turn right and follow the main road. When you get to the bus terminal (TICEN), cross the main road but keep following the road. You'll see another terminal with yellow executive buses. Look for the bus 2120 Barra da Lagoa. The cost is R$5.50. This bus is direct so you wont need to change buses

Get off at the entrance of the FORTALEZA DA BARRA, just ask the bus driver, he'll know, and walk past two restaurants (Rancho de Canoa and Tempero da Ilha) and turn into the first street on your right, Servidao Manoel Jorge de Oliveira. Walk until the end of the street and half way up the small hill to number 95.

From the airport

You can go by bus to downtown and follow directions above, or go through the TIRIO (terminal Rio Tavares) and catch a bus to the TILAG (terminal Lagoon) and from there follow directions above.
