About Emiily lodge

Jim Corbett's house "The Gurney House" is just below Emily Lodge and can be seen clearly from the garden. Some of the trophies that adorn Emily Lodge were given to the doc by Jim himself.

Today the best part about this place is that it is cradled in a dense oak thicket, pristine oak trees that have never been cut and thick jungles surround the house and you would never know that town was just ten minutes away. Beautiful paths cut across the forest, and you can to this day see barking deers known as kakar, scampering about, the sudden flutter of wings as a bunch of kaleej pheasant take flight and the shuffling of the peora.

Emiily lodge has been renovated and converted into a boutique style hotel by Mrs. Rewah who is an interior designer and also the present day proprietor of Emiily lodge. Mrs Rewah has taken every care to look into the modern comforts of city living while retaining the British grandeur of Emiily Lodge, overall it is an optimum mix of the old and the new.

So come share the old world charm, go back in time to the colonial era of the British Raj, all while enjoying modern comforts, even as our chef conjures up some excellent Indian and European delights to tickle your taste buds, or sit in the open air restaurant by the birds and lose yourself in time, if not enjoy an evening seated by the very fireplace where Jim Corbett and the good old doctor sat and discussed those fabulous hunting trips that Jim Corbett has written so avidly about.
