Fegen/ Backa Loge, Gothenburg, Sweden

The hostel's building at Fegen Backa Loge dates back to the 1700s and is located in Fegens conservation area with wonderful views of Lake Fegen. Just screeching from the jetty and the bird loon eco breaks the silence.

Backa Loge is situated in the middle of Fegens beautiful conservation area (future nature reserve). The farm dates back to the 1600s. In 2005 the manor house was tastefully renovated and decorated for hostel purposes. But you can still sense of history with all surviving fireplaces, doors and old floorboards.

From Backa Loge you can Look out over meadows, beach and lake Fegen with its rich fish and birdlife. The osprey nest can be seen from the café terrace, while enjoying coffee and waffle. Or why not pull up the perch from the jetty or boat? Broil it in the grill room, while singular loon cry sounds of the lake.

In these regions continued border conflicts between Sweden and Denmark, and nearby is a place called "war cavity." Here you can be guided on "Backa Loge, a journey from

Ice Age to the present". The border fighting resulted to no border between Sweden and Denmark, rather between Västergötland, Halland and Småland, a mile from Backa Loge.

After all the impressions of nature and culture, you can then relax in the hostel's cozy

environment and sleep soundly in our comfortable beds.

The hostel has 6 double rooms and one single room 3 toilets with showers in close proximity. 2 living rooms one including a fireplace. All tastefully renovated and decorated in a charming and restful accommodations. Beds are dreamily beautiful. sheets and towels are available for rent.

We have a cafe adjacent to the hostel which is open during the season 11 - 18, where we offer home made bread and cakes, and delicious homemade light meals and salads. We are flexible in terms of time of arrival and departure.

From Landvetter airport: take route 40 to Borås turn to road 41 towards Varberg turn of the road 27 then run into the road 154 passing Svenljunga and when you reach Mårdaklev run against Kalv

From Gothenburg: Take E6 to Varberg turn onto road 153 to Fegen

BackaLoge is located on the road between Fegen and Kalv 6 km south of Kalv, 14 km north of Fegen See sign: "BackLoge ecomuseum 2 km"
