Our stay was in every way absolutely perfect. We enjoyed it being there and there was nothing we did not like or we missed in Academy Hostel.
Especially we liked the aperitif in the evening, where many guests sat together and exchanges their experiences with travelling or interests. At this hostel you will find a great atmosphere and a lot of friendly people.
If we will come back to Firenze we won't hesitate to stay at Academy Hostel.

About Academy Hostel
Internet Access Breakfast Included 24 hour reception
In the heart of the town, 30 seconds from the Duomo, you'll find a real hostel and not one of those readapted apartments that call themselves 'hostels'. Here all things are considered, is also the cheapest because our prices include everything and there are no surprises, as it could happen, to have to pay extra on breakfast, internet, linen, towels and 'taxes'. The reviews from our guests say everything, so we don't have much more to talk about. The only rules we have are: to leave empty the hostel from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. so we can clean the hostel; we also ask to not make any noise after 11 p.m. so we can let our guests relax in peace.
On the start of the street that leads to the Museum dell'Accademia (Academy Gallery where Michelangelo's David is housed), Academy hostel is on the first floor of the 17th Century palace that was the true residence of 'barone' Ricasoli and from here it's possible to reach any interesting venue or tourist location in Florence with a short walk.
Rooms
Cheap accommodation in Florence shouldn't compromise on comfort. The city is a busy and hectic place so it's important for us at Academy Hostels to do as much as possible to ensure our guests can get a comfortable night sleep. You will find the Academy Hostels amazingly quiet for being located in the center of Florence but at the same time, for the ones who want to enjoy Florence nightlife, you will find restaurants,bars, clubs and the best spots in town within a few minutes walking distance.
The Academy Hostels is a rather small Hostel and can welcome 30 guests. Our well-maintained dormitory rooms with just 2 to 6 beds (no bunk beds) makes a very familiar and friendly environment.
All rooms are air conditioned and have lockers for your valuables. WiFi connection, free usage of computers in the lobby and all bed linen is provided free of charge.
Here you will find a comfortable furniture lobby with a LCD wide screen TV for the ones that want a little relaxation and to meet people from all over the world.

Conditions
Check-In / Check-Out
-Check-In is between 2pm to 12pm, no early Check-In before 2pm. You can use lounge and store your luggage until your check-In with no additional charge.
If you are going to be late, please advise us or your reservation could be cancelled.
We require valid passport for all guests from outside the European community upon check-In. (Id-card for European countries)
-Check-Out is strictly by 11am. You can use lounge and store your luggage until 8pm with no additional charge.
For check-out bring to front desk your night lamp and key of the locker
Rules
-For your protection and for the protection of fellow travelers, no guests are permitted in the hostel facilities.
-No food is allowed in the rooms and it is forbidden to bring any food or drinks from outside.
-Our facilities are all NO SMOKING, except on terrace
-Common areas are open from 7am to 23 p.m.
-Please refrain from making loud noise
-Keep your valuables on your person or leave them to us and we can assure them in our safe.
-Common areas and rooms must be left as they were found.
-No curfew before 3am

Directions
From the central station of Santa Maria Novella, exit right and continue down Via Panzani (the Piazza dell'Unità d'Italia will be on your left). Continue along Via Panzani, in the direction of the cathedral, il Duomo. After a bit, the street will curve to the left and will change names to Via de'Cerretani. Continue on Cerretani and you will see the Duomo on your right after a moment. After 200mt you will find the street Via Ricasoli on your left. We are at number 9, just beside the Sports store.
If your backpack is too heavy or your spirits are low then you can take, from the square outside the railway station of Santa Maria Novella, the bus number 14 or 23 ( both lines run every 5 minutes form 08,00 AM to 20,00 PM ). In case you prefer a Taxi, you will find the taxis stationed outside the railway station.
From Florence Airport:
There is a bus every half hour that leaves from Florence airport to Florence station. They start to go at 6am and the last one 11:30pm.
Taxis are stationed in front of the Arrivals terminal or can be called by radio taxi (Phone +39.055.4242/4390/4499/4798). Taxi journey time from the airport to Florence city center is about 15-20 minutes. Journey cost is calculated by the taxi meter (average cost is 20/25 Euro).
